Word Reading: This subtest measures speed and accuracy of decontextualized word reading. In this subtest the student is asked to read aloud from a list of words.

Pseudoword Decoding: This assessment evaluates the ability to apply phonetic decoding skills to the reading of nonsense words. The student is asked to read aloud nonsense words designed to mimic the phonetic structure of words in the English Language

Reading Comprehension: This test measures both literal and inferential reading comprehension skills using a variety of passage and question types that resemble those used in the school setting. On this portion of the assessment, the student reads passages and orally and answers literal and inferential comprehension questions.

Oral Reading Fluency: Fluency measures speed, accuracy, fluency and prosody of contextualized oral reading. The student is asked to read passages aloud. Fluency is calculated as the average number of words read correctly per minute.

Strengths:

Weaknesses:

Mathematics Skills: Math subtests were administered to assess       math skills.

Numerical Operations: Numerical Operations evaluates the ability to use numbers and mathematical calculation to solve number problems. It measures written math calculation skills in basic skills, basic operations with integers, geometry, algebra, and calculus.

Math Problem Solving: Math Problem Solving involves the application of math skills. It measures problem-solving skills in the areas of basic concepts, everyday applications, geometry and algebra. On this subtest, students listen to orally presented problems, look at corresponding visual stimuli, and provide an oral or pointing response

Math Fluency Subtests: The Math Fluency subtest measures speed and accuracy of written calculations. Students complete as many problems as they can within a sixty second time limit.

Strengths:

Weaknesses:

Written Expression Skills: Written Expression assessments were administered to assess       written language skills.

Spelling: On this subtest, students write dictated letter sounds and words using word knowledge and spelling patterns to correctly spell and write dictated words used in the context of a sentence.

Sentence Composition: The Sentence Composition subtest contains two components: Sentence Combining and Sentence Building. Both portions measure sentence formulation skills and written syntactic maturity, which includes morphology, grammar, syntax, semantics, and mechanics. Sentence combining requires students to listen and follow along as target sentences are read aloud, and then write one complete sentence that includes all essential information from the target sentences.

Sentence building requires students to listen and follow along as a target word is read aloud, and then write a complete sentence that uses the target word in an appropriate context.

Essay Composition: The Essay Composition subtest measures spontaneous, compositional writing skills within a ten-minute time limit. On this subtest, the student is asked to listen to an essay prompt and then plan, write, and finalize an essay within a ten-minute time limit

Strengths:      .

Weaknesses:

Oral Language Skills: The Oral Language subtests were administered to assess       oral language skills.

|Oral Expression |      |      |      |

Listening Comprehension: Listening Comprehension measures listening comprehension at the word, sentence, and discourse level. It also assesses the ability to make inferences about, and remember details from, oral sentences and discourse. Two subtests were administered: Receptive Vocabulary and Oral Discourse Comprehension.

On this subtest, the student is asked to select a picture that matches a verbally presented word or sentence while listening to a narrative or expository information and orally answering questions.

Oral Expression: The Oral Expression subtests measure the skills that are essential to effective oral expression. These skills form the foundation of written language skills. The Oral Expression subtest has three sections: Expressive Vocabulary, Oral Word Fluency, and Sentence Repetition. Expressive vocabulary measures speaking vocabulary and word retrieval ability. Oral Word Fluency measures efficiency of word retrieval and flexibility of thought process. Sentence Repetition measures oral syntactic knowledge and short term memory. On this subtest, the student states the word that best matches a given picture and names as many things as possible that belong in a certain category, within a time limit the student listens to sentences that increase in length and complexity, and then repeats the sentences back verbatim.
