(PEGASUS)
The Professional Engineer in Government Award - Service in the United States (PEGASUS) recognizes the engineer who has made the most outstanding contribution to the advancement and practice of engineering in state or local government.
Participation: The PEGASUS is open to any registered Professional Engineer employed by state, regional, county, special district or municipal government.
Nomination: May be submitted by NSPE State Society, Local Chapter, and/or State Practice Division.
Deadline Date: March 31
Selection By: May
Judges: Three-member panel appointed by PEG Chair
Selection Process
The PEGASUS will be selected using the following criteria:
Education 5 points
Registered P.E. 5 points
Continuing Education 10 points
Professional/Technical Society Activities 10 points
NSPE Membership 5 points
Awards or Honors 10 points
Civic and Humanitarian Activities 15 points
Engineering Achievements 40 points
Total 100 points
