Professional Practice Goal (PPG) Planning FormAfter completing your self-review and identifying instructional strategies to support your student growth goals, develop and record a Professional Practice Goal (PPG). Identify the instructional strategies and support you need to achieve this PPG.The instructional strategies you identified for your SLO can inform your PPG, or you can focus on other areas you and/or your evaluator have identified.Based on your self-review craft your PPG goal statement:As I worked on my self-review of practice using the Danielson Framework, I rated myself “Basic-2” in the area of 3b using questioning and discussion techniques. While reflecting, I notice that I often ask questions of the whole class and a small group of students provide most of the answers. Students are not regularly engaging in collaborative discussions and this carries over into collaborative learning time. (GRR) My professional practice goal is as followsGoal Statement: Increase opportunities for student-student discourse through purposeful planning and pre-planned text dependent questions that promote student understanding of text.If your PPG and SLO goals are aligned, how are they related? My SLO is focused on student growth in area of literacy (R1 Close Reading). By purposefully planning text dependent questions and opportunities for student-to-student discourse about what they have read, they will be better able to use textual evidence.
