Excel and PPT Final Project

Lemonade Stand Business

This final project will test your ability to use Excel as a business tool including charts and graphs to create business reports as well as working with a partner to complete a project presentation portion. Your partner will be assigned for this project.

1. Work with your partner(s) and decide a name for your business.

2. Go to and play the game for 20 days. Make sure you play in fast forward mode. Fill in all data on your data collection worksheet. At the end of day 20, choose the bankrupt option to liquidate and get final data.

3. Contest: To be eligible for the prize for the highest profit contest among all classes, you must do a print screen on your end of session report. To do this, press PrtSc (Print Screen). This will make a copy of your screen. //Open Microsoft Word and paste it to the end of your report.

4. Once you have collected all your data, open a new Excel workbook. Save it as LastNameLemonade.xls.

5. Create an income statement on sheet one with the following information from your data. Rename this sheet: Income Statement. You must use a formula for total expenses, net profit/loss, and ending profit/loss.

| Ending Profit/Loss |  | $7.92 |

6. You will need to create the following graphs. Each graph should be a new sheet. You will need to think of a name for each tab. YOU SHOULD NOT ENTER ALL THE DATA AS IT IS IN YOUR DATA COLLECTION SHEETS. YOU must decide how to enter the data to complete each chart. If there isn’t a specific style listed, YOU must choose a style that displays the information well.

Charts you must complete:

□ Each day vs. high temperature (bar chart)

□ Temperature vs. cups sold

□ Temperature vs. rating (create a number system for rating)

□ Total rainy, hazy, cloudy, overcast days, etc. vs. sunny days (pie chart)

□ Daily revenue vs. daily expenses (line chart)

□ Number of cups sold vs. number of potential customers

7. Each chart must have the following:

□ a title,

□ data labels (for pie charts only)

□ data table (for all other charts except pie charts)

□ change the patterns or colors of pie charts

□ pie charts must have one slice exploded

□ company’s name in the header or footer

8. Next, take a look at the Temperature vs. Cups Sold graph. What patterns do you see or would you expect to see? Do you see anything that doesn’t match your common sense here? Write a 1 paragraph summary explaining the correlation you see on your Temperature vs. Cups sold graph. Begin by describing the correlation that you see. Give your reasons why the pattern may be the way it is. Explain any days that may not fit the pattern (outliers) with reasons why they may be there. End with a one-sentence conclusion.

9. Finally, create a cover page in Word with your company’s name, partner names, and date. Use clip art and make it look professional.
