The Programme Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the set-up of the programme and required governance through to the successful delivery of the reaccreditations and any associated benefits. They will also, where required, fulfil project management support for an Equality Charter project.The role comprises some Business Owner duties. This will include acting as a Charter Champion with Senior Stakeholders to ensure they all have a common view of their scope, purpose, benefits and are committed to delivering the Charter requirements including action plans. Other relevant duties will include supporting the development of a long-term plan for embedding the management of Equality Charters into a business as usual process.Key accountabilities/primary responsibilities% TimeTo be responsible for the overall Equality Charter Programme of work and its related projects. This will including acting as day-to-day agent of the Chairs/Sponsors of the Charter projects.20%To undertake programme and project management duties including developing detailed plans bringing together the information on projects, resources and timescales, monitoring against the overall agreed timeline and ensuring significant risks, issues and obstacles are reported and managed as appropriate. This role will also entail managing priorities, dependencies, tolerances and escalations across multiple work streams while complying with project and programme delivery frameworks.20%To operate within existing University Governance structures, ensuring the project or programme’s governance arrangements are clear and agreed, and work with senior staff to ensure projects and programmes remain aligned to strategy. 10%To communicate and report on the programme with a wide cross section of the university using current and new communication methods as required. Stakeholders will include senior staff and external stakeholders.10%To act as Charter Champion. Working with the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Committee and Senior Stakeholders to promote the scope and purpose of the Charters and ensure there is commitment to deliver the work requirements and action plans.
