AP Multiple Choice Tracking Sheet Project

AP Multiple Choice Tracking Sheet Project: YOU WILL HAVE FOUR TO SUBMIT FOR A TEST GRADE IN THE SECOND NINE WEEKS. KEEP ALL OF THEM!!

The purpose of this “tracking sheet project” is to help you practice the skills necessary to do well on the AP test. Therefore, we have established the following 4-step procedure for you to follow each time we practice a passage.

1. Take the multiple choice quiz. You will be given 15 minutes per passage, the same as on the AP test. No points are deducted from your score for wrong answers. However, it’s still a good idea to eliminate wrong answers if you have to guess, and to skip questions that seem to bog you down so that you can attempt all the questions. Remember that as we go through the year, we are building reading skills as well as practicing test strategies.

2. Check your answers during the discussion that follows—this is very important. If you don’t understand why your wrong answer IS wrong, ask. Be sure, as well, that you understand clearly WHY the right answer is right. Simply writing down what the teacher says is the right answer does not help you along your path to truth.

3.

Complete your Multiple Choice Tracking Sheet.

Passage Title: __________

# ?’s: Fill in the number of questions in the passage.

# correct: How many questions you got right.

# unattempted: How many questions you didn't get to because of time.

# missed/terms/tone: The number of questions you missed because you didn't know terms and/or tone words.

#missed/close reading: The number of questions you missed because you didn't

get the point of the sentence(s) referred to.

Your score = the number of right answers divided by the total # of questions.

4. Make corrections for the questions you missed or omitted. To do so, you will staple a sheet of paper to the back of your Tracking Sheet. Write the title of the passage at the top. Under this, write the number of each question and explain

a. Why the right answer is right

b. (if you chose a wrong answer)—why this answer is wrong NOT WHY YOU CHOSE IT!

When finished: RECYCLE the multiple choice questions and passage. (They should NEVER leave the room!). Staple your corrections to THIS SHEET. You will keep all four sets of corrections until the end of the second nine weeks. DO NOT LOSE THEM! This is an easy completion grade test grade!!!
