LESSON 12 Using Twitter And Facebook To Promote Your Book

Lesson Overview

In this lesson we're going to begin to use Twitter and Facebook to promote your book during your free promotion. You'll want to make sure you do this step on the first day of your free promotion and may also use these strategies throughout your promotion. Also, be sure to get 3 extra reviews during the free promotion so that you have a total of 6 by the end of your promotion. Refer to the previous lesson on how to get Amazon verified reviews.

How To Promote Your Kindle Book On Twitter

You may want to set up a brand new Twitter account for this step, as we'll be tweeting a lot of Twitter accounts about our book. If you use your personal account, it might spam your feed. I personally use multiple Twitter accounts under different pen names and e-mail addresses.

Here's the steps to promoting your book on Twitter:

1. Go to and login to your account.

2. Go through the list of Twitter handles below and follow them.

This list will continually be updated. All of these Twitter handles have large followings, so if they re-tweet your book to your list, it can help you get a lot more downloads.

3. Tweet each of the Twitter handles that your book is free during the specific dates, along with the link to the book.

Go to Compose A Tweet and type in the following:

"Hey, my book (book name) is FREE from (insert promo start date) to (insert promo end date) on Kindle. Download here: (insert book link) @(insert twitter handle from above)"

Feel free to change around the text as you choose. You need to make sure it has the book name in the Tweet, the dates of the promotion, the link to your book, and make sure you include the Twitter handle from the list above to tweet it to that person.

You'll want to make sure to go through the entire list. Also, you need to be careful about spamming on Twitter. If you tweet too much, Twitter might suspend your account. I recommend to do this sparingly, perhaps tweet a few, then wait a few minutes, then tweet more. It's useful to have multiple Twitter accounts if you are promoting a lot of books at once.

You can also repeat this process on the third day of the promotion and final day of the promotion to really get more downloads for your book. This is optional though.

How To Promote Your Kindle Book On Facebook

For the Facebook promotion, you may want to set up a brand new Facebook account for this also. I personally use different Facebook accounts under different pen names. Facebook can suspend your account if you post too much at once, which is why it's useful to have multiple Facebook accounts when promoting multiple books.

Here's the steps to promoting your book on Facebook:

1. Go to and login to your account.

2. Go through the list of Facebook groups below and join them.

Please note that it can sometimes take a day or two for the admins of these Facebook groups to approve you. Some require approval, others do not. You'll want to try to join these groups as soon as possible, then post in them once you've been approved.
