|ROLE PURPOSE: |

|Save the Children launched its ambitious 2016 – 2018 strategic plan with the aim of significantly increasing unrestricted funds. Engaging, |

|inspiring and retaining our supporters and increasing their value over time has been identified as key to our unrestricted income growth. |

| |

|The Global Fundraising Hub was created at Save the Children International in 2016 and is a virtual team of 10-12 experienced international |

|fundraisers. The new Hub sits in the Member Growth team, headquartered in London, and provides strategic support and technical guidance to |

|our Members in Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America. A number of the team members work remotely and the location of this job is |

|flexible. The role will involve travel to work with national leaders in individual giving and their teams together with their data analysts. |

|It will also work collaboratively across the team of the specialists in the Global Fundraising Hub on F2F, DRTV, digital fundraising, donor |

|development and with the Business Operations team on fundraising data and insights. |

| |

|The purpose of this role is to develop and lead Save the Children’s global fundraising data insight analysis used to make informed strategic |

|decisions within the Global Funding Priority, track the progress of private fundraising at Save the Children, including Member Growth |

|investment countries, and identify market-based opportunities to increase the volume and value of the global supporter base. |

| |

|The Senior International Fundraising Data Insight Manager will: |

| |

|Lead on developing a global fundraising insight strategy for Save the Children under the Global Funding Priority, that is underpinned by high|

|quality measurement of fundraising performance |

|Be accountable for identifying critical fundraising opportunity insights to increase our donor acquisition and donor development as |

|cost-effectively as possible, and embed a culture of timely measurement and management of fundraising performance |

|Ensure that we embed a core set of priority KPIs for fundraising and teams around the world use them and report back on them to enable |

|like-for-like comparison of our performance around the world with a focus on RoI and LTV |

|Create collaborative ways of working and co-ordinate initiatives across Save the Children’s fundraising data analyst Community, to ensure |

|that effective data insights are shared, best practice analysis and insight is embedded, with the aim in maximizing the life-time value of |

|all donors |

|Manage and drive forwards Save the Children’s participation in the IFL Peer Review and Global Donor Insights Initiative. Ensuring both |

|external projects continue to develop to meet and exceed the needs of the fundraising community |

|Collaborative with the fundraising specialist and market development team as required to review the ongoing measurement of Save the |

|Children’s fundraising performance by channel and/or market. |

| |

|As a senior staff member, both in the directorate tasked with leading on delivery of the Global Funding Priority and in the Global |

|Fundraising Hub, you would be called on to represent the team in cross-organisational working groups and work streams at the international |

|level. |

| |

|In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside of the normal job description and be able to|

|vary work hours accordingly. |

|Budget Responsibilities: Indirectly responsible for meeting individual giving targets in assigned countries, in line with agreed |

|international growth targets. |

|KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: |

| |

|Global Strategy Development and Planning: Be responsible for the development of a Global Data Insight strategy aimed at using data to |

|identify the markets where we can have the biggest financial impact to deliver to our global goals. |

|Conduct a strategic review of the current SCI fundraising income, knowledge and data insight initiatives with the Business Operations Team. |

|This involves reviewing the way data is collected and the analysis undertaken, to ensure we maximise the use of data to inform effective |

|fundraising decision-making and provide Members with actionable insights |

|Identify gaps in the current fundraising data analysis and insight projects delivered by SCI, and in doing so, streamline the Member facing |

|data requests |

|Embed a culture and develop a process for robust quality control over fundraising data analysis projects at SCI including high quality |

|presentation to stakeholders |

|Lead the team to collect, analyse and disseminate results for annual benchmarking to key stakeholders |

|Be accountable for the development of global opportunities analysis – which combines data from our internal benchmark, IFL Peer Review and |

|Global Donor Insight Initiative and provides Members with critical insights into growth opportunities at market level in both donor value and|

|volume |

|Develop a global LTV project that allows SCI to see where we get the best return on investment overtime and by channel |

|Ensure we capture the correct data to consistently measure and compare ROIs by channel by country as a business-critical KPI |

|Introduce a framework that tracks the return on investment in countries receiving Member Growth investment funds where we have greater |

|oversight responsibility and highlight which Members are delivering the maximum financial performance for the organisation |

|Lead on the development of a Member insight dashboard from a fundraising perspective – a tool that allows the Global Fundraising Hub to |

|quickly and effectively review real-time fundraising performance data by market |

|Work alongside the Regional Heads of Market Development and Fundraising Directors in key markets to identify opportunities. |

|Work with the Business Operations team to ensure effective analysis and high quality user-friendly presentation of the insights to feedback |

|and report to key stakeholders across the organisation |

|Ensure senior stakeholders in the Global Funding Priority (Fundraising Directors, CEOs, CFOs, GPDs) receive a quarterly update on fundraising|

|performance and sector-wide insight and trends. |

| |

|Direct Support: Advise fundraising data leaders in Members. |

|Support members in the development of their own fundraising performance tools, systems and processes aimed at encouraging data-driven |

|decision-making |

|Assist countries to submit robust plans, financial reports and review performance on a regular basis |

|Prepare and present the key findings from the annual global opportunities analysis (growth opportunities and trends) to Member peers, |

|Fundraising Directors and the Member Growth Team |

|Co-ordinate with Members to identify and track fundraising trends in their own market |

|Aid members in the development and implementation of robust and statically valid testing plans as required |

|Ensure members are effectively using and are aware of the Core Fundraising KPI definitions, so that the measurement of all fundraising |

|performance is synchronised across the movement |

|As required conduct deep dive audits into Member’s fundraising performance and market opportunity as part of a wider review. |

|Act as a focal point within Member Growth Team on the imminent changes to European data legalisation (GDPR), and work with the key |

|stakeholders at SCI and effected Members, to understand more about the application and interpretation of this law and the impact it will have|

|on how we fundraise and the private sector income can and will raise |

| |

|Skill sharing and knowledge management: Create closer links and greater dialogue between senior data staff and their teams across the |

|movement of Members. |

|Lead on the facilitation of skill sharing initiatives across the fundraising data leads within Members |

|Coordinate the development of a fundraising analyst working group with the aim of sharing best practice, innovation and exchange knowledge |

|Identity training gaps within the global community and take relevant action to up-skill colleagues with the aim of improving the reporting of|

|fundraising performance and the subsequent insight analysis |

|Introduce forecasting models, reporting templates and advise on the usage of the new planning tool to improve the quality of data insight and|

|analysis of Members |

|Identify successful individual initiatives that have the potential to be successfully scaled in other markets |

|Co-ordinate peer-to-peer exchange of expertise. |

|External focus: Represent Save the Children in all bi-lateral fundraising insight benchmarking projects |

|Be the focal point and leader for Save the Children across both the IFL Peer Review and Global Donor Insight Initiative with peers in the |

|International Fundraising Leadership Forum |

|Promote the importance and benefit of peer benchmarking within the Save the Children movement and continue to grow participation levels |

|Ensure all benchmarking projects continue to meet and exceed the needs of Save the Children fundraisers and proactively challenge our |

|suppliers to review and improve these critical insight tools |

|Establish strong working relationships with our main peer organisations and identify opportunities for bi-lateral insight projects and |

|knowledge exchange beyond the benchmarking |

|Maintain a strong knowledge of our main peer organisations and their performance; identifying key trends and insights for Save the Children. |

|QUALIFICATIONS |

|University degree (ideally in Business or Social Science) or other relevant professional qualification or experience |

|Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), Institute of Fundraising (IoF) or Institute of Direct Marketing (IDM) qualifications or overseas |

|equivalent would be an advantage. |

|EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS |

|Substantial proven experience of working at an international level and with multiple national fundraising teams to drive change through the |

|measurement and management of fundraising data, and with a demonstrable record of success in growing both donor volumes and donor value |

|through data insight. Experience in doing this in multiple markets is essential. |

|Experience in measuring and monitoring the effectiveness of Individual Giving strategies and plans |

|Experience of analysing and leading on global benchmarking and providing actionable insights for decision-making in Individual Giving |

|A strategic thinker who understands the importance of having robust fundraising measurement metrics and has the ability to clearly and |

|reliably provide data insights to audiences of varying knowledge levels |

|Demonstrable understanding or experience of working within a team with knowledge management and skill sharing responsibilities equivalent in |

|scale and focus to this role |

|Capacity to build and maintain excellent relations and to work effectively in a multicultural and multi-ethnic environment respecting |
