PSA Rules & Regulations

Video Rules

1. Each student may only submit one entry per category. 2. Video should highlight adolescent relationships abuse and/or healthy relationships. 3. Video should be no more than 29 seconds and should be uploaded through the WCA website (get-

involved/psa-contest). 4. Script must be provided with entry. 5. Online submission form must be completed in order to upload the video. 6. All actors appearing in the video must provide a release form, including parent/guardian signature if performer is

under 18 years of age. All release forms must be received or postmarked by January 31st, 2020 in order to be eligible. All sources should be properly cited in the video (where applicable).

7. Statistics should include publisher/organization and year (e.g. Center for Disease Control, 2010) and website if applicable (e.g. NO MORE, 2018. )

8. Definitions should cite organization (e.g. Idaho Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence) and website if applicable (e.g. National Dating Abuse Helpline, )

9. Current, trustworthy statistics and definitions should be used 10. Video must display WCA and National Dating Abuse Helpline (Love is Respect) contact information. 11. Entries will not be considered if they do not meet the requirements or are submitted after the deadline.

Poster Rules

1. Each student may only submit one entry per category. 2. Poster should highlight adolescent relationships abuse and/or healthy relationships. 3. All posters need to be digitally generated, submitted in, jpg, .tif, .gif, .pdf, etc., and need to be print ready (300

DPI or higher). Hard copies of hand-drawn posters will not be accepted. However, hand-drawn posters properly formatted and scanned in the correct format (jpg, .tif, .pdf, etc.).

4. Poster should be uploaded through the WCA website (get-involved/psa-contest) and have two printed out copies (size: 18"x24" or 24"x36") for judging, mailed or delivered to: 720 W. Washington St. Boise, ID 83702

Deadline Information

All entries must be submitted by the deadline of Friday, January 31st, 2020 online at . All forms along with your uploaded video must be submitted by Friday, January 31st, 2020.

Other Information

The creator(s) as stipulated on the PSA submission form of the winning PSA will receive the prize(s). Local media will be contacted regarding the video contest and the winners. Additionally, the winning PSA will be placed on the WCA website, social media, and newsletters, and will be submitted for airing on local media outlets. Creator(s) will be credited where applicable.

Official Rules

You must be a US citizen or legal resident, over 18 years old and residing in Idaho to enter, or if under 18 parental information must be submitted. Participation constitutes entrant's full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these official rules. This contest is sponsored by the Women's and Children's Alliance of Boise, Idaho.

(1) Eligibility

This contest is only offered to individuals currently attending a middle school or high school in the state of Idaho. Each applicant must be either a US citizen or legal resident.

(2) How to Enter

Create your own video PSA that provides helpful insight and information focusing on the theme of adolescent relationship abuse and/or healthy relationships. The Women and Children's Alliance offers assistance for women, men, and children who have been in abusive situations. Your PSA entry should educate teens and/or young adults about these issues and offer information about resources available through the WCA and National Dating Abuse Helpline.

To enter, access the webpage at , download and fill out the release forms, complete the submission form, and upload your PSA video and script no later than 11:59 p.m. MT on January 31, 2020. All entrants will be required to declare that they have a signed release form from each person who appears, likeness appears, or voice is heard in their PSAs. A standard release form is available at and is a required submission for each person featured in the entry. Signed forms can be uploaded with the submission form, or faxed, mailed, or delivered by hand to the WCA.

(3) Format and Length

For Video: Your PSA must be exactly 29-seconds in length. Please make sure the sound for your video PSA is a quality suitable for presentation on television and other public media outlets. The need for clear enunciation cannot be overstated. Please encourage all speakers to project through the end of sentences as to not diminish volume at the ends of sentences. Increase the volume for quieter speakers, and vice versa in order to insure the consistency of volume throughout the video.

For Poster: All posters need to be computer generated, submitted in, jpg, .tif, .gif, .pdf, etc., and need to be print ready (300 DPI or higher). Hard copies of hand-drawn posters will not be accepted. However, hand-drawn posters properly formatted and scanned in the correct format (jpg, .tif, .pdf, etc.) will be accepted.

Please upload two copies of your poster- one either 18"x24" or 24"x36", and one that is compatible with social media dimensions (for the social media contest judging). The accepted regulation are as follows:

(4) Copyright Infringement

By submitting an entry, each creator(s) warrants that he/she is the sole author and copyright owner of entry or has permission (via license or otherwise) to use or incorporate those entry portions authored or owned by third parties. Entries may not have been entered into any other contest or won any other award. While the use of images, music and other works in the public domain may be incorporated into entries, materials that infringe on the rights of any third party may not be used, such as professionally recorded music downloaded from the Internet. The Women's and Children's Alliance is not responsible for late, lost, delayed, garbled, damaged, misdirected, incomplete, illegible or unintelligible entries. Incomplete or illegible entries are not eligible.

Each entrant must complete the online Submission Form included in the contest registration materials, and all persons whose pictures, likeness, voice and/or name are used in the entry must also complete a Release Form. An electronic copy of a signed release shall have the same cause and effect as an original.

By submitting an entry, creator(s) grants to Women's and Children's Alliance a nonexclusive, irrevocable license to copy, reproduce, display, or distribute the entry, and to make derivative works based upon the entry or a substantial portion of the entry without attribution or prior permission. Entries become the property of the Women and Children's Alliance and will not be acknowledged or returned.

(5) Judging Criteria

A panel of judges will announce the winners about early to mid-February 2020. The judges will review all entries for message, accuracy, originality, artistic skill, technical quality, and overall impact.

The judges are looking for the entries that best convey the importance, characteristics, and/or impact of teen/youth dating abuse and/or healthy relationships. Information pertaining to the Women's and Children's Alliance services and mission is welcome, but the WCA's contact information is required for the video and the logo is required for the poster.

Judges' decisions are final. The Women's and Children's Alliance reserves the right to disqualify and remove any Entry which is: in the judging panel's sole discretion, inappropriate, offensive, defamatory, or demeaning to Women's and Children's Alliance's reputation or goodwill, or any entrant who, in the judging panel's sole discretion, engages in conduct that is inappropriate, offensive, defamatory or demeaning to Women's and Children's Alliance's reputation, goodwill, or to other entrants or their respective Entries.

Winners will be notified by e-mail, mail or phone before February 28, 2020. Required documents must be signed and received within seven (7) days upon winner notification. Failure to comply may result in forfeiture of extended recognition and national distribution and selection of the next highest rated entrant will be used to select a winner. If a winner cannot be contacted within five (5) calendar days of first notification attempt, if notification is returned as undeliverable, if winner rejects notification or in the event of noncompliance with these contest rules and guidelines, winner status will be forfeited and selection of the next highest score entrant as the winner will occur.

(6) General Terms and Conditions:

By participating, entrants agree that the creator(s) of the video, its shareholders, agents and representatives, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion and fulfillment agencies, and legal advisors are not responsible or liable for, and shall be released and held harmless from: (i) telephone, electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet, or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties of any kind; (ii) any condition caused by events beyond the control of the creator(s) of the video that may cause the contest to be disrupted or corrupted; (iii) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the contest; (iv) any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with or resulting from participation in the contest, including without limitation, claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy. The creator(s) of the PSA, its shareholders, agents and representatives, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion and fulfillment agencies, and legal advisors are not responsible for technical, hardware, software, telephone or other communications malfunctions, errors or failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, website, Internet, or ISP availability, unauthorized human intervention, traffic congestion, incomplete or inaccurate capture of entry information (regardless of cause) or failed, incomplete, garbled, jumbled or delayed computer transmissions which may limit one's ability to enter the contest, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participating in this Contest or downloading any materials in this contest. The creator(s) of the video reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, extend, or suspend the contest should (in its sole discretion) computer virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention, fraud, or other causes beyond its control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, or proper conduct of the contest. In such case, judges will select the winners from all eligible Entries received prior to and/or after (if appropriate) the action taken by the creator(s) of the video. The creator(s) of the PSA reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds, in its sole discretion, to be tampering with the entry process. All federal, state and local rules and regulations apply. In case of dispute as to the identity of any entrant, entry will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at time of entry. "Authorized Account Holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g., business, educational, institution, etc.) responsible for assigning e-mail addresses or the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Any potential winner may be requested to provider creator(s) of the PSA with proof that such winner is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the winning entry. Any other attempted form of entry is prohibited; no automatic, programmed, robotic or similar means of entry are permitted.
