PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN HANDBALL VS MOL-PICK SZEGED

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 22th 2019 ? 19:00 ? PIERRE DE COUBERTIN ARENA ? PARIS

WEEK 2 ? EHF VELUX CHAMPIONS LEAGUE ? BeIN SPORTS 1

5 FOR 5 Paris won the first five games of the season so far. The Rouge et Bleu started with earning their fourth Troph?e des Champions against Montpellier (3427). Then, they won the three first games of the Lidl Starligue, only team to do so, and the first game in Champions League.

DEFEND HOME The Paris Saint-Germain is unbeaten in Coubertin in the last 47 games, all competitions included since June 8th 2017. In Velux EHF Champions League, Paris didn't lose a game in the last 38 matches at home (in Halle Carpentier and Coubertin). Last time Paris lost at home in Champions League was almost five years ago on November 16th 2014 against the German team, THW Kiel. In Lidl Starligue, the Rouge et Bleu are on a 27-game winning streak in Coubertin.

BEST IN EUROPE Since 2015-2016 and the new format, Paris is the best team in Europe in the group phases with 99 pts earned (over 114). Barcelona is the 2nd best team with 94 pts and one more game played. Last season, the Rouge et Bleu finished at the 1st place of Group B with 26 pts. They broke a record of points in group phase since the introduction of the new format in 2015-2016.

MISTER 3000 Vincent G?rard made 13 stops last Wed to become the first goalkeeper ever to reach the 3000 career stops in Lidl Starligue. After last game in Chartres, the newcomer has now exactly 3004 stops (36%) in 14 years in the league. Before Paris, the MVP of the last Troph?e des Champions played in 3 Starligue clubs: Montpellier twice, Dunkerque and Istres.

SZEGED MADE A SPLASH Szeged won the first game of Velux EHF Champions League at home last week versus Barcelona (31-28). The team of the Spanish right- back Jorge Maqueda Pena, who scored 7 goals, was leading by seven goals at half-time.

WE KNOW THAT GUY Luka Stepancic is coming back to the Stade Pierrede-Coubertin arena with Szeged's jersey only few months after he left Paris. The Croatian right back played with the Rouge et Bleu during the last three seasons.

GOING FOR 200 Kim Ekdahl du Rietz targets the 200th career goal in Velux EHF Champions League tonight. The Swedish left back has scored 194 goals so far in the competition, with Rhein-Neckar L?wen and Paris Saint-Germain.

ONE TROPHY ALREADY Paris won the Troph?e des Champions two weeks ago vs Montpellier (34-27) in Limoges. The Rouge et Bleu earned the competition for the 4th times in club history, a new record (Montpellier won it 3 times). Mikkel Hansen scored 11 goals and Vincent Gerard made 17 stops. The Troph?e des Champions was played in one game for the first time. Paris has still not lost once vs Montpellier in the Troph?e des Champions (4 games, 4 wins).

THE GROUP Such as last Wednesday against Chartres, Mikkel Hansen will miss tonight's game after undergoing a mild concussion during practice. Except the Danish left back, the other 16 players are available to face Szeged.
