Theisen Date: October 2020JOB SUMMARYThe Program Manager Development Principal Gifts for the Medical Advancement Group (MAG) is a member of the MAG Principal Gift team and will play a critical role in the creation, implementation, and execution for various strategies to advance the MAG Principal Gift Program. This position will also play a lead role in the oversight and management of the Friends of UW Health to ensure proper execution of the goals and objectives of Friends. This position will report to the Managing Vice President – Medical Principal Gift’s team.The medical principal gifts program is responsible for developing and maintaining protocols and measures for effectively engaging high net worth prospects and donors of SMPH and UW Health resulting in $1 million+ gifts in support of the priorities of the medical institution (UW Health/SMPH.) This role will also be responsible for supporting the coordination of activities of external campaign related boards. The role will assist with VIP level development and alumni events and engagement opportunities, prospect and stewardship management, gift fund administration, and managing a variety of projects. This role will have significant contact with both UW Health and SMPH leaders, faculty, and principal gift level donors to the two organizations. This role is also responsible for the management and oversight of administrative support and budget oversight. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES MAG – Principal GiftsWork directly with the Vice President of Development – Medical Principal Gifts to establish strategies and opportunities to advance the overall Medicine Principal Gifts program.Work directly with the Vice President of Development – Medical Principal Gifts to identify high level touchpoints with medical principal gift donors and prospects.Work directly with the MAG Stewardship team to identify and execute special, intimate stewardship opportunities to enhance relationships with medical principal gift donors and prospects.Work directly with medical leadership for principal gift meeting preparation and follow up.Work directly with the MAG Events team to develop unique and inspiring engagement and fundraising events to enhance relationships with medical principal gift prospects.Exhibit the ability to interact with donors/prospects/volunteers throughout the event implementation process and provide the appropriate follow up to these individuals post event.Work the Medical Advancement Group leadership team to ensure medical leadership, community leadership, governmental leadership, etc. are invited to appropriate Medical Advancement Group events.In conjunction with the Managing Vice President of Development – Medical Principal Gifts, build strong relationships with principal gift programs at peer institutions to consistently learn best practices.Work directly with the initial medical campaign planning committee members and other key medical donors, friends, prospects, and community members in helping advance various goals and objectives of the medical campaign.Play a key role in maintain coordination and collaboration with the WFAA principal gift program and WFAA development staff.Exhibit the ability to work effectively within the existing databases.Identify and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance professional growth.Friends of UW HealthLead MAG representative to Friends of UW HealthWork directly with UW Health leadership to determine expectations for Friends and consistently convey these expectations to the Friends board.
