Introduction and Background

y Short Term Intensive Residential Remediation Treatment (STIRRT)

y 14 day intensive residential substance abuse treatment program y 8-9 months of continuing care in community (non-residential) y Intended to stabilize drug offenders y Considered a "last chance" for offenders who would otherwise

go to prison.

Referrals

y Those eligible include those referred by:

y Probation, y Parole, y Treatment Alternatives to Street Crime (TASC), y Denver Drug Court, and y Community Corrections.

y Arapahoe House ? Commerce City, CO

y Multiple locations y Male and female participants* y 40 clients/month

y Crossroads Turning Point, Inc. ? Pueblo, CO

y Male clients only y Up to 40/month

y Larimer County Community Corrections ? Fort Collins, CO

y Male clients only y Up to 20/month

y Mesa County Criminal Justice Services Department ? Grand Junction, CO**

y Male and female clients y Up to 30/month

*Due to some IRB difficulties the AH female participants were excluded from this study. **Mesa County stopped offering STTIRT in June 2010.
