We follow the Code of Ethics Breeding Guidelines as recommended by the Golden Retriever Club of America. We recommend you read the information provided on the Golden Retriever Club of America's website on the pros and cons of this breed before committing to owning a Golden Retriever. The Health section of the website is an excellent source for information on the many general health issues affecting the Golden Retriever breed.

We sell all our pet quality puppies on an AKC limited registration. This means your dog may be AKC registered and able to compete in AKC hunting tests, obedience & agility trials but will not be able to be shown in Breed Competition or produce registered offspring. We recommend not spaying before females puppies are 10 months old. We recommend waiting to neuter males are at least 2 years old.

Each dog produced at Butternut Hill will always have a home with us. If, for some reason in the future, you are unable to keep your golden, we reserve the right to first refusal. Do you accept these terms?
