Software Microsoft Work at Home (WAH) policyOverviewPurposeThe purpose of this policy is to address all issues relevant to software installation and deployment on Berkeley Heights Public Schools’ computer systems.AuthorityThis policy has full support from the Berkeley Heights Public Schools Technology Advisory Board (TAB) and the Administrative Council.The information technology (IT) coordinator administers this policy. This policy is currently effective for all Berkeley Heights Public Schools employees and computer systems.ContinuanceThis policy is a living document and may be modified at any time by the IT Coordinator, Technology Advisory Board, or the Administrative Council.MissionBerkeley Heights Public Schools/ IT objective is to enable its employees to perform their tasks with technology that is in good operating condition while appropriately addressing business needs.DilemmaHistorically, we have not consistently addressed how software is to be deployed to Berkeley Heights Public Schools’ computer systems and that of their employees via the Microsoft Work At Home licensing. This lack of a standard policy has adversely affected the IT mission at times. This policy will set protocol as to how software is to be delivered to better enable the IT department to achieve its objective of delivering stable, well-performing technology solutions.The Microsoft "Work at Home" policy provides an opportunity for faculty and staff members to install an additional copy of selected Microsoft software products on their home computer or portable PC for the duration of their employment with the Berkeley Heights Public Schools. Eligible Software products include Microsoft Office, Visual Studio Professional, or any of their component products, regardless of version. Please note that Operating System products are not eligible for Work at Home use. Please be advised of the following additional conditions for use of eligible Microsoft software under the Work At Home policy: the software products can only be used for work related purposes. products installed under the Work at Home policy on a home computer or portable PC are only to be used by eligible Berkeley Heights Public Schools’ faculty and staff and must not be distributed or copied. all software installed under the Work at Home policy must be removed from a home or portable PC upon: a) leaving the employ of the institution, and/or b) termination of the Microsoft Enterprise Agreement prior to the completion of the initial term. By signing this document, the user agrees to adhere to the above guidelines and stipulations.
