Reminder to parents—

Keep your children at home when they are sick. For example:

Please keep your child at home if any of the following symptoms or signs are present:

Elevated temperature (greater than 100F or 38C)

Diagnosed with a strep infection, impetigo, bacterial conjunctivitis —your child must be on antibiotics for 24 hours before returning to school. We follow the Minnesota Department of Health exclusion guidelines for infectious diseases.

Acute cold with discolored nasal discharge, sore throat, or persistent productive cough

Vomiting, nausea, or severe abdominal pain during the evening, night or in the morning.

Repeated diarrhea during the evening, night or in the morning

Pus-like discharge from eyes, with redness and itching

Suspected and /or untreated communicable disease (some examples include: chicken pox, impetigo, scabies, hepatitis, conjunctivitis, ringworm, etc). Please bring your child to his/her health care provider and let us know of an infectious disease diagnosis. Have your provider indicate when your child can safely return to school.

A sick child doesn’t learn well. He or she may also infect other children. Please follow these guidelines.
