OBJECTIVE: Bioinformatics - Software Engineer - Data Analyst position.

Currently Working as Software Engineer Intern at Dept of Computer Science, UCSD.

Projects:

• Mass Spectroscopy Data Analysis and Visualization: Written code in C++ on Unix platform to develop an application to analyze mass spec data and generate graphical output of mass spec spectrum based upon data. Worked on peptide server of UCSD, used GD graphics library to generate mass spec spectrum and generate output in the form of jpg and png images. (Dr. Bafna)

• Protein Functional Database Design and Operation: Designed schema for a complete protein database (specific to PTS pathway system) and created the tables and columns using mysql. Used local blast to generate data. Written programs extensively in Java, Perl, CGI and PHP to parse the output data, generate sql queries and update database. Database connectivity using Java JDBC- Connector/J and Perl to mysql database.
