LeGare Date: 5.2019Department: Wisconsin Sleep HR Approval: nnl Date: 5.2019JOB SUMMARYUnder the general direction of the Wisconsin Sleep Program Director, the Sleep Applications Consultant will conduct process analysis, needs assessments and preliminary cost/benefits analysis to align information technology solutions with both the clinical and research goals of Wisconsin Sleep, Inc. This position will also be responsible for direct oversight of the support of applications and technology used during the performance of Wisconsin Sleep’s clinical testing, diagnosis and reporting. This position could also be responsible for any number of components relating to an assigned project including needs analysis, definition of product requirements, selection process, project and task prioritization, testing, training, post-installation follow-up, and maintenance. The incumbent will need a comprehensive technical skill set and be able to apply that skill set toward achievement of developing a support environment that meets the needs of Wisconsin Sleep’s clinical staff and researchers. This position will also be expected to participate in the strategic planning in the evolution of complex clinical sleep systems.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIESServe as the lead person within Information Services for any clinical information system used within Wisconsin Sleep.Interview users at clinical, staff, management and executive levels within Wisconsin Sleep regarding perceived needs and processes. Develop clinical system support plan derived from personal and group interviews.Conduct re-engineering meetings for all process workflows within the Wisconsin Sleep lab in cooperation with on-site management staff. Develop and document new workflows for approval by clinical departments.Work with primary and specialty departments and Information Services to develop documentation templates for use by Wisconsin Sleep in reporting testing results.Direct the implementation, configuration, facilitate and/or conduct training and support for both commercial and in-house systems.Participate directly in definition, customization, development and testing of sleep-specific software and hardware projects. Provide direct training and support for ongoing maintenance releases.Direct transition of system administration and support functions to end users as appropriate. Assist providers in maximizing use of systems to increase efficiency.Coordinate development of turnover documentation required by system administrators, support, operations and training staff.Develop and maintain project plans to provide mechanism to manage project timelines, resources and change and to generate uniform project reports for communication to interested parties. Direct post-implementation review of project goals (i.e. analysis to ensure that project delivered savings or improvements which were projected).Direct development of system documentation, policies and procedures related to projects.
