Things Fall Apart Final Test Review

The tests will comprise ten (10) true/false questions, and forty (49) multiple choice questions. The essay portion of the test will be the students’ choice from among the three topics presented in the original unit rubric. This essay is due Friday, March 18.

To prepare for the final test, students should review their chapter summaries and the character chart they developed as the read the novel. There is NO vocabulary section.

1. Students should review each of the major characters in the novel including, but not limited to Okonkwo, Unoka, Ekwefi, Ejinma, Nwoye, Ikemefuna, Obierika, Mr. Brown, and Mr. Smith, Chielo, Ezeudo (and his son), and Uchendu.

2. Students should understand the important elements of Igbo traditional culture before the changes wrought by contact with colonial Christian missionaries. These include such items as Chukwu, Agbala, the egwugwu, The Sacred Python, Chi, iyi-uwa and agbanje (both associated with Ejinma), uri ceremony, uzo, osu, and efulefu.

3. Students should be able to describe the actions in each of the major events of the novel, the characters involved in the events, and explain how the event reveals character and advances the plot action.
