John Carroll University has many students who have devoted themselves to serving the university through involvement and embodying the characteristics and qualities of a leader. The Outstanding Student Leader Award is designed to recognize up to two students from each class level who, through their leadership and involvement, have helped to change the campus culture in a positive way during the past year. These leaders have unselfishly given of themselves in efforts to enhance the spirit and community of John Carroll and improve our university.

Instructions Please submit a 1-2 page letter or statement addressing how the nominee exemplified the characteristics enumerated in the following selection criteria from May 1, 2017 to present and why this student is deserving of receiving an Outstanding Student Leader Award.

The nominees will be evaluated on how they have enhanced the spirit and community of John Carroll by excelling in one or more of the following areas:

Faith and justice; Diversity and inclusion; Health and wellness; Leadership of their peers

Nomination materials should be sent to Kyle O'Dell in the Office of Student Engagement or submitted via email to leadership@jcu.edu by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 23. Nominations received after this time will not be considered. The selection committee will contact all nominated students and ask them to provide additional information about their involvements on and off of the JCU campus and how they contributed to the vitality of the JCU campus community in the areas designated above. The recipients will be announced at the Applauding Excellence ceremony on Wednesday, May 2 at 2:00 p.m.
