Laboratory

Mercy Medical Center Laboratory is a full-service, state-of-theart laboratory serving the hospital and MercyCare clinics. The Laboratory is accredited by the College of American Pathologists and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Testing is performed by certified medical laboratory scientists, medical laboratory technicians, histologists and cytologists. Approximately one million tests are performed annually in clinical chemistry, toxicology, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, immunology, microbiology, mycology, molecular diagnostics, transfusion services, anatomic pathology and cytology. Pathology services are provided by Weland Clinical Laboratories P.C. Blood products are provided by Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center.

Mercy Medical Center Laboratory offers two convenient locations for outpatient blood draws. Walk-ins are welcome; no appointments are necessary.

Free Parking

At Mercy Medical Center: Free parking is available in front of the 8th Avenue entrance (for Lab patients only) or in the parking ramps at the corners of 8th Street & 8th Avenue or 8th Street & 10th Avenue.

At Mercy Health Plaza: Free parking is available around the entire building.

Hours: Monday-Friday: 5:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. Saturday: 6 a.m. - 2 p.m. Sunday: 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. Closed holidays. After-hours testing for stat orders is available at this location.

Directions:

Directions to Mercy Medical Center: From the South: Take I-380 to Diagonal Drive SW (exit 19A). Turn right and continue on Diagonal Drive, which turns into 8th Avenue SE. Proceed to Mercy Medical Center, at the corner of 8th Avenue & 10th Street.

From the North: Take I-380 to 7th Street NE (exit 20B) continuing to 8th Avenue SE. Turn left at 8th Avenue SE. to 10th Street SE.

Directions to Mercy Health Plaza: Take I-380 to Highway 100 east (exit 24) toward Collins Rd. Continue onto Collins Rd. and merge into the left lane. Turn left on Council Street NE. Turn Right on Park Place NE and proceed to the northeast corner of the building.
