Concept Cards – Directions

1. Print set of words, cut apart, place in small envelope for distribution to each reading groups. (one set per group)

2. Students assemble the cards into categories of their own choosing. (Note: Do not tell students a specific number of categories or the number of “word cards” that should be in each grouping.) Encourage students to place words in categories according to their own knowledge of those words or their predictions of how those words might be used in the story.
