Hi, there!

We just had a brilliant concert here at Queen Vic, honouring Black History Month called "The Underground Railroad" presented by Chris Whiteley (formerly a Mariposa in the Schools musician, jazz and blues artist) and Diana Braithwaite (jazz and blues artist, author), who are both brilliant musicians and composers.  Their music is a mixture of original songs as well as some traditional spirituals and their message is inspiring and uplifting.

The concert ends with Diana sharing her personal story about her family's roots, where she tells how her family came to Canada via The Underground Railroad.  It is an amazing story!

We had Diana and Chris perform for our students in Grades 2 to 6. The children, as well as staff, loved their concert. If you are looking for a concert for your school, this one is well worth while! Their message is timely at any time of the school year.

We just had a wonderful performance of the Underground Railroad presented by Chris Whiteley and Diana Braithwaite.

They presented the history of the underground railroad through story and song for our grade 5 students.

It was wonderful and I highly recommend them.

If you're looking to book someone for Black History Month, they would be my choice!

Enjoy,
