Microsoft Certified Trainer Certification preferred, but not required.Department: Information TechnologyReports to:Director of Information TechnologyPrepared by: Information Technology DepartmentDate: April 2021Approved by:Michael CoxDate: May 2021ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned):Ability to coordinate system upgrades and train users on new programs.Ability to provide customer support/troubleshooting for hardware, software, connectivity and network printing.Ability to gain knowledge of AS/400 technologies and implement new technologies.Ability to support VMware.Ability to manage and execute operating system upgrades and installation of patches.Ability to manage and maintain Active Directory.Ability to work with other IT team members in projects, troubleshooting, and support issues.Ability to communicate well both written and oral.Respond to email messages, voice-mail messages, and telephone calls from employees seeking help with issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries. Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues concerning maintenance and repair issues, networking, and IT systems.Properly follow-up or escalate unresolved queries. Track, route and assign problems to correct resources and monitor to successful resolution. Ensure proper recording, documentation and closure in the ticketing system.Recommend procedure modifications or improvements and complete project-based assignments.Run diagnostic programs, monitor systems, and analyze output to resolve problems and recurring malfunctions.Preserve and document the knowledge of Corporation specific procedures, products, and services.Other Requirements:Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as computer software manuals and procedure manuals. Ability to write procedures for employees and communications to employees. Ability to translate others’ rough ideas into polished pieces.Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of School Trustees policies.
