DIRECTIONS FOR RACE FOR EDUCATION MAILERS

DIRECTIONS FOR RACE FOR EDUCATION MAILERS

Attached are the Race for Education mailers that you will be working on. Please see your teacher if you need additional mailers. Be careful to follow the directions below when filling out your mailers.

1. Write your name in the “From” space at the top of the mailer. Grade, Teacher, and Dear ____________________ should also be filled in.

2. Write neatly a personal message on the lines provided. Your teacher may have a specific message that he/she wants you to write, so check first with your teacher before writing your own message.

3. Fill in “Student’s Name” and “Grade.” Then turn the form over to complete the address section.

4. Fill in the “Attn.” line. Your name, grade, and section (if applicable) go here, i.e., Billy Smith - 1B.

5. Do not fill in the “Sponsor’s Name & Address” section, which is located in the left corner above where it says, RACE FOR EDUCATION. This will be done by the sponsor when they send the mailer back to our school.

6. The mailing label will be attached above in the section over the space where there are 3 blank lines. Make certain that you have your teacher’s permission before putting on the mailing labels. Also, no labels are to be removed from the label sheet unless your teacher has made a “white copy” of your label sheet.

7. When your mailers are completely finished, give them to your teacher to check over for any possible errors. Do not fold any of the mailers.

8. No mailers are to be taken home to complete or deliver. All mailers are to be completed at school and will be sent out from the school office.

9. Do not write out any mailers to staff members at our school, unless they have already offered to sponsor you.

10. In order to use someone as a potential sponsor: a) you or your parents must know them personally; b) they must have the potential to contribute at least $5.00, and you feel quite sure that they will; c) they cannot be school-age (i.e., K-12th grade). The exception to “c” is when you have an older brother or sister who has a part time job, and he or she has agreed to sponsor you for at least $5.00.
