Ecology Powerpoint/Poster/Scrapbook Marking Period Project

Congratulations! Your work as a leading ecologist in your field has earned you the prestigious opportunity to be part of the President’s effort to increase environmental awareness, reduce human impact on the environment, and advance efforts for the United States to “Go Green.” You may work alone or with a partner on this marking period project. You may choose to do a powerpoint, poster, or scrapbook. The details of your assignment are found below.

You have plenty of time to do this and will be given some class time to work on it. If you have any questions or do not understand something, ask me sooner than later! I am here to help you succeed.

|Audience |Your audience is other ecologists gathering for the International Ecology Symposium in Washington, D.C. |

|Format |Create a scrapbook, poster or Power Point presentation to present the information you gathered. |

|Task |Pretend that you traveled to a terrestrial biome of your choice. (terrestrial means land and not aquatic) |

| |c. plants- dominant type of plants and why (at least 5 species represented) |

| |d. animals- animal life in area (at least 5 species represented) |

| |e. special adaptations of plants and animals that live in the biome |

| |f. unique characteristics of the biome |
