"I'm Free"
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free, I'm following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard his call,
I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work, to play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I've found that peace at the close of the day.
If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My Life's been full, I savoured much, Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch, Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me, God wanted me now, He set me free.
Acknowledgements The family wishes to express with deepest gratitude and sincere appreciation all acts of kindness shown during the loss of their loved

Obituary
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a
place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. John 14: 1-3
Reverend William E. McCormick, II was born on March 30, 1954 in Sanford, North Carolina to the late Bishop Ellie McCormick and late Mrs. Jessie McCormick. He transitioned peacefully to his heavenly home on December 22, 2018 at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina.
Reverend McCormick grew up in Sanford, NC and was well-known throughout the community. He attended school within Lee County Public School System at Sanford Central High School, with the first integrated class. He continued his education at the local community technical college, strengthening his skills in auto mechanics. He married the love of his life, Miss Brenda Cotton. Throughout their union ten children were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bishop Ellie McCormick and Mrs. Jessie McCormick; and one son, Mr. Elliott McCormick.
Reverend McCormick was not a stranger to hard work. In September 1973, he enlisted in the US Army and began working as a Hercules Missile Crewman. After faithfully serving his country, he became a Correctional Officer, working within a correctional penitentiary in Raleigh, North Carolina. He continued and worked with R&R Railroad, Hallman Foundry, and Roofing and Son in Sanford, North Carolina. He loved fixing cars and doing small, odd jobs for people throughout the community.
Reverend McCormick was a God-fearing man who served the Lord and was deeply passionate about being a shepherd of his people at McCormick Chapel, where he pastored for several years until his health began to fail.
