Dear Parents,
With the end of the school year upon us, we know that you are making plans for your child's summer vacation activities. While the summer months are a welcome opportunity for fun and relaxation, the break from school activities often causes students to experience a lag in learning upon returning to school in the fall.
Miami-Dade County Public Schools is implementing a Summer Reading program for all students in grades K-12. Oliver Hoover Elementary School will be following MDCPS's K-12 Summer Reading Guidelines. The chart below lists the grade levels and required readings that should be completed before the start of the 2019-2020 school year. For each book that the children read, there is an assigned activity that will be collected in August, during the first week of school, by your child's future teacher.

Al finalizar el a?o escolar, sabemos que ya est?n planeando las actividades de verano de su hijo/a. Aunque los meses de verano son una buena oportunidad para divertirse y relajarse, el descanso de las actividades escolares puede causar que los alumnos se atrasen al regresar a la escuela en el oto?o.
