Summer Reading Program

7th Grade HAG

All 7th graders in the HAG program at Hanes are required to select one book from the list below to read over the summer and complete the literary analysis found on our school website. All titles for the Summer Reading Program are related to STEM education. When you return to school in August you will spend time discussing the book you selected to read with other students in your class. There will be graded activities within the first two weeks of school that depend upon your knowledge of the novel. In addition, you will participate in theme related activities during the first few weeks of school.

Students in the HAG program are also required to read one online journal article. Please visit to select your journal article. After reading your journal article, find one current event story that relates to the topic of your journal article. Bring the journal article and current event story to class on the first day of school.
