Upcoming KYTC Right of Way Training Courses

• The IRWA Course 400 (Principles of Real Estate Appraisals in Right-of-Way) is scheduled for the 25th and 26th of February 2015.  The location of the class will be Frankfort (Capital Plaza Hotel).  This course is ideal for persons interested in entering the appraisal field, along with buyers, and relocation persons.  Attached is the registration form and you will also need to complete form TC 12-242 (External Training Authorization and Registration).  These forms should be submitted to Stephanie.Dunn@.

UPCOMING COURSES

• Basic Appraisal Procedures (30 Hours, 4 days, $450/person): This course will instruct the attendee to apply the concepts learned in Basic Appraisal Principles.  Takes on step by step through the valuation process.  This will include: defining the problem, collecting an analyzing data, reaching a final opinion of value.  The three approached to value will be applied in true-to life case studies and problems.  The course also introduced the attendee to the basics of property description and construction and design basics.

• Residential Market Analysis and Highest and Best Use (15 hours, 2 days, $325/person):  The course looks at the relationship between market analysis and highest and best use.  It will help the attendee discover where to find the needed information to make a highest and best use decision.  Students will discover the links between the market and highest and best use analyses and the three approached to value.  Real world exercises will be used to assist the appraiser in translating theory into practice.

• Residential Site Valuation & Cost Approach (15 hours, 2 days, $325/person):  The course focuses on the valuation of vacant parcels and the development of the cost approach.  Students will learn to use market extraction, effective interview techniques and use professional cost data sources.  An in depth case study will lead attendees from the beginning to the conclusion of the valuation using various cost approach applications.

• Residential Sales Comparison & Income Approaches (30 hours, 4 days, $525/person):  Uses two case studies, to teach the techniques necessary for completing the sales comparison and income capitalization approaches of the valuation process. Attendees learn to develop and apply qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques as well as organize and reconcile data.

• Residential Report Writing & Case Studies (15 hours, 2 days, $350/person):   Participants will practice writing effective narrative comments for form appraisal reports and learn how to explain valuation procedures and conclusions to users of reports. The techniques applied in this course are useful in real-life situations that complicate routine assignments.
