2nd Semester ALGEBRA PROJECT:
Algebra 1 PROJECT
This project will require you to recall knowledge learned throughout the course of Algebra 1. Each pair of topics is listed in the box to the right and you will pick 3 topic-pairs to use. Each pair will be put on two separate pieces of paper. The first page will be broken into 4 parts: A formal definition and then an explanation using your own words of the first and second topics, respectively. Make sure to use correct mathematical vocabulary. Next, you will create an original problem for each corresponding topic-pairs and provide the correct answer with all work shown (short answer format). The next page will be split into 3 parts: Explanation on how the two topics are related and different, the creation of a real-life word problem application that contains both topics, and a real-life application of the topic in a magazine, community, school, etc. When you have completed all requirements for each topic-pair, you will compile them together into a book, an electronic presentation or poster/tri-fold board. You must be creative in putting your presentation together, and each page must be in the format shown below. Finally, you must list the references, i.e., where you copied the formal definitions from.
