Tips…

1. Plan ahead of time and practice, this is the #1 reason for a lame skit

2. Think through and plan the “storyline”

a. Setup – Including the introduction by the other leaders

b. Character development

i. An ordinary person in an extraordinary situation

ii. An extraordinary person in an ordinary situation

iii. “ism”s – Sayings, Funny Movements, Faces, Voice Inflections

c. Storyline has to get more interesting, try to include unexpected things

d. Must have a climatic ending (very important)

3. Think through and plan your outfit and props

a. Top/Shirt/Coat/Jacket…

b. Pants/Shorts/Skirt…

c. Shoes/Socks

d. Hat/Wig…

e. Accessories: Necklace/Glasses/Facial Hair/Bracelets…

f. Props needed in the skit itself

4. Think through and plan your lines

a. If really funny, not needed as much

b. If not funny, these are needed a lot

c. An outline and key lines are very helpful

Questions to ask when finished:

1. Did skit add or take away from Club as a whole?

2. Is this skit going to make people talk about Club at school?

3. Did it promote good fun and humor (not making fun of someone)?

4. Will this skit attract the person farthest away from Christ?

5. Would Jesus enjoy/laugh at this skit?

6. How would you improve this skit for next time
