Should Schools Require Student Uniforms?

Yes! Surprised to hear that answer? Any other student writing this essay would have said no, but I said yes. Why? Well, why shouldn't I say yes? Anybody can give a hundred reasons why we should have school uniforms, but nobody can give a hundred reasons why we shouldn't have school uniforms! First of all, school uniforms are there to maintain the discipline of the school. If you give students the freedom of wearing anything they like, who knows what inappropriate and ineligible clothes they will wear? This can spoil the school's image and ruin its reputation. Second of all, student uniforms are there so that we can keep the identity of the school intact and when the school has to go for competitions outside, the students have a proper and professional uniform to present against their opponents. Third of all, if students start to wear the uniform in the correct way, later in their professional life, it helps them a lot, because they tend to act qualified and more matured in front of their colleagues. School uniforms help students in a whole to maintain discipline and behavior, to become more proficient and skilled in the future, and help them to feel a little bit good and proud towards their school!

Pretend if we give the freedom to the students for not having school uniforms, there will be a chaos! Many students tend to wear inappropriate clothes which are not meant to wear in school. Even if the teachers and principals make it a strict rule to wear good and suitable clothes to school and give punishments to those who are not following this rule, the parents will start complaining; and they will have a good point. If the students are not following this

new rule of the school and taking it seriously, then why did they give the freedom to not wear school uniforms? That's what definitely many parents will say. Because something like this is very difficult to control. Even if the parents were paying a lot of money for the school uniforms, but at least there was a benefit; the students were wearing something appropriately and correctly instead of wearing short and striking clothes. This small issue can also affect the school's reputation and image, and make it into a big issue! What will other people and other schools think when they visit a school to see students wearing short dresses and disqualified clothing? A bad image and reputation will be made for the school, and parents will not want to put their students in that school or will be doubting if they should or shouldn't let their children take admission in that school after the news spread.

If students don't take admission in the school, then it will slowly start to dupe for the bad name it has got. Even students who are studying in the school may transfer or shift to another school. In that way, for just not having school uniforms can cost so much in the end. Many schools cannot afford uniforms for their students and that is why the school doesn't have its own identity. Each school should have its own identity like each individual has in this world, and to create, make, and maintain it; we need school uniforms for one of the reasons. If the school goes out for competitions with other schools, and what if they don't have any school uniform; they won't have their own identity as an individual to stand as a school or family. People will consider them as an unprofessional and immature school. In that way also the school's reputation and image falls down

and we already know the results for that from before. Wearing a uniform or a jersey to represent your school shows how much you love and care for your school and live together as a family to win the competition for your school. It also gives people the idea of how your school promotes these educational, fun, and exciting outdoor knowledgeable activities for the students. Thus, more people get attracted to the school and tend to think for their children to join this school too. More students, more profit, and more the status and name of the school grow altogether at the same time!

School uniforms also make it a practice or a habit of the students to wear the uniform correctly and nicely to look smart and efficient in front of others. It helps them in the future to remember to wear their tie correctly and tuck in their shirt whenever they go for official meetings by collecting those memories again of teachers telling them a hundred times to do that! This helps students like us from now on to act more professional and qualified in front of our teachers and principals in school so we can do the same when we grow up, except the fact that we have to do it front of our bosses. But if we don't wear school uniforms, we don't have that quality or skill in us to act maturely like civilized people. We don't even have that urge or determination to try and act certified! So many negative points or disadvantages of not having school uniforms, but there are some positive sides too. Less expenses to the parents if there is no school uniform and anyway nowadays even school uniforms are very expensive. But who cares about expenses, when the child is getting so much knowledge, fun, learning from the school; and anyways maybe if the school is doing really well and the students are

doing too, then the school may themselves decrease the price of the school uniform!

Yeah students will very much enjoy if they can wear anything they want to, but we all know the result of that by now! Less tension and work for the parents, children, and teachers if there is no uniform, because then the children don't have to remember which uniform to wear on what day and parents don't have to keep on checking if their children are wearing the correct uniform or not. Teachers don't have to take the effort to check if the students are wearing correct uniform or not, but they will still have to check if the students are wearing appropriate clothes to school if there is a rule of not having anymore uniforms in school. But anyways, all the positive points of not having school uniform still have bad or negative side-effects then the positive points of having school uniform! That means all schools should have school uniforms because there are more positive points than the negative points in this decision, so it proves as a safe and successful rule for all schools around the world.

As you can see there are more positive or good points in having school uniforms than not having them, and less negative or bad points. Students get all kinds of benefits from it and at the same time so does the school! Definitely what we are wearing is not at all related to how good we study and absorb things, and how good we are in studies, but other things do matter also; like, looking smart and well-dressed in front of other people and showing that you are civilized and proper students. Looking elegant and neat in proper uniform tells other people

and other schools that we are smart students and that we have a good understanding about everything. To tell you the truth, I also think like the other students and don't want to school uniform, but if I think of it practically then I do want school uniforms because I know the consequences and outcomes which will come out, we all know. The fact will always be true, and that is why it is always remain bitter for us kids about this issue! But if all schools continue wearing school uniforms and which schools do not have school uniforms, make them; then not only the schools, but the students also will reach great heights in the future. There will more benefits for the school if they have school uniforms than if they don't have. Don't you agree with me after reading my essay?!
