Hazardous Weather Outlook
Days Two Through Seven
Watches, Warnings & Advisories
MISSOURI STATE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY
? Limited lightning risk. ? Limited non thunderstorm wind risk. ? Extreme frost and freeze risk. ? Widespread frost will occur across the area early this
morning, with a hard freeze across potions of the eastern Missouri Ozarks. ? Southerly winds will increase across the area today and tonight, with winds gusts over 30 mph expected across the area overnight tonight into Wednesday morning. ? Scattered thunderstorms will be possible across the area later this evening and especially the overnight hours. ? Freezing morning temperatures across the region may affect sensitive vegetation. Overall dry and calm weather is expected today, with rain chances increasing late tonight. ? Frost and freezing conditions will continue across the region through this morning. Please see the current Frost Advisory and Freeze Warning for more information.
? Additional scattered storms will develop across western Kansas and northwestern Oklahoma Wednesday morning and will track east across the area during the morning and afternoon hours. A few strong to severe storms with hail up to the size of quarters will be possible.
? Gusty southerly winds will occur across the area Wednesday with gusts up to 30 to 40mph expected at times during the morning and afternoon hours.
? A cold front will move across the central Plains Wednesday afternoon and evening. Additional storms are expected to develop to the west of the area and spread east into the area later Wednesday afternoon and the evening hours. The main severe risk will generally be along and west of the I-49 corridor where large hail and damaging winds will be possible with a low tornado risk.
? The cold front will stall near the Missouri and Arkansas border Wednesday night and lift back to the north through the area on Thursday. A few strong storms will again be possible with hail the main risk generally west of Highway 65 Wednesday night into Thursday. Locally heavy rainfall and some localized minor flood could be possible.
? Gusty winds will also be possible Friday and Saturday over southeast Kansas and western Missouri. A cold front will move into the area late this weekend into early next week and will bring additional showers and storms to the area along with the possibility of some heavy rainfall.
? Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible late Wednesday afternoon. The primary concerns are currently large hail and damaging winds.
? Special Weather Statement: Isolated areas across southwest Indiana, west Kentucky, the southern tip of Southern Illinois, and the southern half of Southeast Missouri may experience a brief freeze or patchy frost late tonight, mainly in sheltered areas. Drier air moving in tonight along with a persistent northwest breeze should prevent widespread frost formation.
