DRIVE PROCUREMENT FORWARD BY DONATING TO THE 2017 KPPA

SILENT AUCTION

By LaDonna Purcell, CPPB, CPPO (Morehead State University)

Help "Drive Procurement Forward" by donating an item for the 2017 KPPA Silent Auction. As we've done in previous years we will be presenting an award to the agency whose contribution raises the most money. Partner with other members of the "pit crew" at your agency to donate an item or put together a themed basked for the auction.

Individuals can be your own "crew chief" and compete too. We will also give a separate award to the individual whose donation raises the most money. Think about a unique item that you can provide or donate that would start a bidding war among attendees. Remember that all money raised will fund the scholarships for members to use toward their professional development. The annual award for agencies and individuals will be announced after the "checkered flag" waves on the 2017 KPPA Silent Auction.

Email LaDonna Purcell, Chair of the Silent Auction Committee, with any questions at l.purcell@moreheadstate.edu

FROM THE PRESIDENT'S PEN

By Stacy Phillips, CPPB, CPPO (CHFS OATS)

KPPA Members, Greetings! I am happy to report that over 20 members were able to attend the NIGP Annual Forum again this year! It is always great to see Kentucky so well represented at our National Conference. Kentucky was recognized at the Chapter Presidents' luncheon for leading in the number of classes that were held. Kentucky held over 6 seminars last year. KPPA continues to strive to provide educational opportunities for our members and this is wonderful to see! Start making plans for next year it will be located in Nashville Tennessee!

Don't forget to sign up for the 32nd Annual KPPA Conference and Vendor Expo if you haven't already! It is right around the corner! It will be held at the Galt House in Louisville on October 4-6, 2017. Don't miss this great opportunity to attend our procurement event and network with professionals across the State. This year at the social event KPPA will be participating in a community outreach program called "Blessings in a Backpack". A representative of the organization will be attending the social to collect your donations. We hope that everyone will come out to support this great charity. To learn more about this organization and the items needed, please visit their website at .

I do want to encourage each of you to get involved in KPPA. We could not be so successful without the help of members and leaders in procurement. If you are interested in becoming a leader in the organization and running for the Board of Directors, please reach out to Kathy Robinson at Kathy.Robinson@. Leaders are vital to the continuing growth of the organization.

Look forward to seeing everyone at the conference! Be safe!
