SHEET-METAL WORKER

Description of Position: Plans, lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs and repairs sheet metal parts and products; utilizes knowledge of working characteristics of metallic materials, machining and layout techniques, using hand tools, power tools, machines and equipment. Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling and installing sheet metal products. Selects gauge and type of sheet metal according to product specifications. Lays out and marks dimensions and reference lines on material, using scribers, dividers, squares, and rulers, applying knowledge of shop mathematics and layout techniques to develop and trace patterns of product or parts. Sets up and operates fabricating machines, such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls and routers to cut, bend, block, form or straighten materials. Trims, files, grinds, deburrs, buffs and smoothes surfaces, using hand tools and portable power tools. Welds, solders, rivets, bolts, screws, clips, caulks and bonds component parts to assemble products using hand tools, power tools and equipment. Other responsibilities as assigned.

MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

Description of Position: Inspects, repairs and maintains functional parts of automotive and mechanical equipment and machinery, such as pumps, compressors, trucks, forklifts, scissor lifts and small engine powered equipment, using hoists, hand tools, gauges, drills, grinding wheels and testing devices. Inspects defective equipment and diagnoses malfunctions using motor analyzers, pressure gauges, and chassis charts and factory manuals. ROOFING SUPERVISOR

Description of Position: Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in covering roofs with roofing materials. Schedules work and assigns duties to workers. Coordinates movement of materials from distributor or company warehouse to the job site, and directs job site storage. Keeps listings of manpower and materials used on the project on a daily basis, and turns them in to the company’s accounting department daily. Demonstrates techniques of applying various types of roofing material to new workers. Inspects work in progress and, when completed, determines conformance to specifications. Keeps order and safety on the project and disciplines when necessary. Oversees the training of new employees on power equipment and tools. Other responsibilities as assigned.

JOB DESCRIPTION: FLAT ROOFER

Description of Position: Covers roofs with roofing materials other than sheet metal, including composition built up roofs using asphalt or pitch, roofing felts and gravel; modified bitumen systems; or single ply roofing membranes including EPDM and PVC. Lays and adheres insulation, in asphalt or by mechanically fastening with nails or screws and plates. Applies asphalt or pitch to roof using push or pull type felt machines or by mop. When applying modified bitumen to roof, mops hot asphalt or spreads adhesive mastic onto roof and imbeds the membrane or uses a propane torch to heat the bottom of the membrane and roll membrane onto roof as specified. When applying EPDM, PVC or other single ply membranes, rolls out the roofing membrane and seals the seams as specified by the manufacturer of the membrane. Cuts roofing materials to size. Cuts strips of flashing and fits into angles formed by walls, vents and intersecting roof surfaces. Other responsibilities as assigned.

4. The ability to work in a variety of physical positions, including stooping, squatting, kneeling and crawling. Extensive use of arms and shoulders, gripping and safe use of small and large hand power tools.

5. The ability to perform basic math functions and follow written or verbal instructions and safety rules.

TRUCK DRIVER

JOB DESCRIPTION

Description of Position: Drives truck to transport materials in liquid or packaged form and personnel to and from specified destinations. Hauls debris from job sites to various landfills, properly tarping and/or otherwise restraining the load to conform with DOT specifications. Maintains radio or telephone contact with supervisor to receive instructions. Coordinates timing between roofing crews for efficient trash removal and hauling. Loads and unloads truck. 1. Possession of a current driver’s license appropriate for the truck to be driven.

5. The ability to carry materials and equipment that you are hauling, and to operate equipment when loading and unloading.
