SCHUYLKILL INTERMEDIATE UNIT 29 ACADEMIC SUMMER SCHOOLONLINE COURSE RESPONSIBILITY FORMDue to the nature of the online experience, students must be extremely self-motivated and self-directed. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Home computers MUST have access to the latest version of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome or Safari. High speed Internet is highly recommended. Students MUST have access to and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint. Adobe Acrobat Reader must be installed on the computers.In order for students to gain the most benefit from the online course experience the following guidelines have been established:STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES:Log on to the course the first day to be sure you understand the policies and assignments.Instructor will activate the course at 8:00 a.m. on June 22, 2015 and close the course at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on July 23, 2015. Complete and submit all assignments as per directions and abide by due dates established by the instructor. Submit only work that has been completed by the student. Plagiarism (e.g. copy and paste, using another person’s work without citing) will result in dismissal from the course.Adhere to the Schuylkill IU 29 Acceptable Use Policy (AUP).Ask the instructor questions if an assignment is not clear or you do not understand a concept.PARENT/GUARDIAN RESPONSIBILITIES:Ensure the student may gain access to the Internet, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.Keep well informed of the student’s virtual classroom activities and frequently check assignment grades.Support the student by providing time to be online and to do the coursework from home.Assist in submission of assignments that require faxing, scanning or delivering to Maple Avenue Campus.
