Global Environmental & Infrastructure Business Group

The Global Environmental & Infrastructure Business Group mainly handles trade and related business operations in power generation, water, transportation, and other necessary infrastructure. We are active in areas that help to combat global warming and secure sustainable supplies of energy, such as our renewable and next-generation energy businesses. We are also involved in manufacture of lithium-ion batteries, an essential component for today's environmentally friendly vehicles.

Industrial Finance, Logistics & Development Group

The Industrial Finance, Logistics & Development Group engages in investments and management business in the Real Estate, Leasing, Private Equity, and Logistics sectors. In addition to the wealth of knowledge and managerial competence gained through experience and the networks of a global integrated business enterprise, we are leveraging its asset management functions to build the optimal portfolio for maximizing corporate value.

Energy Business Group

The Energy Business Group contributes to the development of industry and helps to improve the quality of people's lives. We handle energy in liquid, gas, and solid states, which provide consumers with light, heat and power. Our expansive energy portfolio includes liquefied natural gas (LNG), crude oil, petroleum products, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), petroleum coke, metallurgical coke and carbon products.

Metals Group

In the Metals Group, we handle a wide range of commodities in steel products, ferrous raw materials and non-ferrous metals. By providing global markets with stable, sustainable supplies of high-quality mineral resources and metal products, we are contributing to the sustainable development of the world in which we live.

Machinery Group

The Machinery Group handles a wide range of machinery in four key domains: industrial machinery, shipping, defense and aerospace, and motor vehicles. We handle machine tools, agricultural machinery, construction and mining equipment, elevators and escalators, ships, aerospace-related equipment, automobiles, and other businesses.

Chemicals Group

The Chemicals Group is active in three business segments: Commodity Chemicals such as petrochemicals, industrial salts and fertilizers; Functional Chemicals, including plastics and functional products such as urethane, synthetic rubber and coating raw materials; and Life Sciences, which covers our food science, pharmaceutical and agrochemical businesses.

Living Essentials Group

The Living Essentials Group operates businesses that provide consumers with foods, clothing, medical goods and other daily consumer necessities on a global scale. Our operations cover a range of industries from the upstream sourcing of resources to the downstream retail market. We make a contribution to the enrichment of society by providing competitive products and services that match the diverse needs of consumers, with a strong emphasis on the reliability and safety of the products and services we provide.

Highlights of our Activities in Latin America and the Caribbean

1 Ports Business

Joining forces with a local partner, we are participating in the port terminal business along Colombia's Caribbean coast.

2 Power Plant EPC Business

We develop our power generation plant business, including engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), across the region.

3 Power Generation Business

We are not only involved in EPC, but also hold stakes in a thermal power project in Chile, which supplies electricity to a key sector of the country's economy, the mining industry.

4 Water Business

Through a joint venture with a local partner, we supply desalinated water via pipeline mainly to the mining industry in Chile.

5 Floating Production Storage and O oading (FPSO) Business

We operate Floating Production, Storage and O oading (FPSO) vessels for crude oil and gas from deep-sea oilfields with Brazilian state-owned oil company, Petrobras.

9 Copper Business

Beginning with participation in Escondida mine, the world's largest copper mine, MC steadily expanded its assets in Chile and Peru. MC also participated in Anglo American Sur S.A. in 2011, which owns the Los Bronces mine.

6 Compressor Business

We are working with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Compressor Corporation to develop a compressor business, including sales, assembly and after-sales service.

10 Iron Ore Business

We are investing in Chilean iron ore mine, Compa??a Minera del Pac?fico S.A., which is Chile's largest iron ore company, and continues to grow through mine expansions and new mine developments.

7 Aircraft Leasing

We are developing our aircraft leasing business, including aircraft leases to leading local airlines in Panama and Colombia.

8 Extra Heavy Crude Oil Development Business

We are working together with Venezuela's state-owned company and other partners to develop an extra heavy crude oil business in the Carabobo area of the Orinoco Oil Belt.

11 Steel Business

We work on business areas that include distribution and processing of steel products across the region through Metal One Corporation, an integrated steel trading company that is 60% owned by MC.

12 Elevator Business

We are working with Mitsubishi Electric to develop elevator sales across the region and operate an elevator factory in Colombia.

13 Motor Vehicle Business

We are working with partners in Brazil, Chile, Peru and in other countries throughout Central and South America to import and sell vehicles manufactured by Mitsubishi Motors and FUSO.

14 Methanol Production & Sales

Our joint venture with a Venezuelan state-owned petrochemical company and other partners annually produces 1.6 million tons of methanol.

15 New Methanol Project

We are working in partnership with the Trinidadian government and other partners to develop a venture for the production and sale of methanol in Trinidad and Tobago.

16 Grain Procurement & Sales

Through our subsidiary Agrex do Brazil, we are involved in the procurement and sales of soybeans, corn and other grains.

17 Co ee Business

We are working with one of the world's largest co ee plantations to produce high-quality co ees, certified by CSR organizations in the US and Europe. We are also engaged in co ee trading across the region.

18 Salmon Farming

We are working through Cermaq, the world's second largest salmon farming company, to develop our salmon farming business in Chile, also leveraging the Cermaq group's best practices in Norway and Canada to produce safe and sustainably farmed salmon.
