Role of the Coordinated School Health Assistant

The role of the CSH Assistant is to provide support to the CSH Coordinator in gathering and disseminating

information related to the development, growth and sustainability of Coordinated School Health within the school

system. The CSH Assistant can only perform CSH-related duties commensurate with the contracted amount of

time they are reimbursed with CSH state funds.

TYPES OF CSH ASSISTANT FUNCTIONS CAN INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

► Knowledge of Board school health policies and procedures;

► Comply with the public school laws regarding health, safety, and confidentiality.

► Comply with medical, nursing and educational ethics;

► Assist with coordination of services in community projects;

► Collaborate with other community agencies to accomplish the goals of the school health program;

► Attend related school health meetings as well as meetings of local agency organizations;

► Assist with ordering, maintenance and inventory of supplies;

► Organize and manage staff wellness program;

► Collaborate with school personnel for delivery of health screenings or school health programs;

► Attend health service staff meetings;

► Organize and manage program development including reports, evaluations and forms;

► Assist with maintaining personnel files;

► Prepare reports in a timely manner; and

► Collect and record data from school systems on absenteeism, suspensions, juvenile court referrals, or other data as directed.
