What do my ACT test scores mean when I am registering for courses?

ACT Reading Placement

(Scores are valid for 5 years)

English Courses:

21+ Composition I (ENGL 1101)

16 - 20 College Prep English II (ENGL 0960)

14

College Prep English I (ENGL 0950)

ACT Reading scores of 26+ qualify students for placement into the Honors Program.

Liberal Arts Courses: A Reading score of 16 or higher indicates that you are prepared to register for any Liberal Arts courses without prerequisites.

Career Programs Required Reading Cut Scores:

Accounting, Administrative Assistant, Agriculture, Business, Computer Applications, Human Services, Medical Administrative Assistant, Medical Assistant, Medical Receptionist, Medical Secretary and Nursing Assistant - score of 16 or higher

*Minimum placement score of 14 in ACT Reading.

ACT Math Placement

(Scores are valid for 5 years)

Calculus (Math 1210) 28+ ACT Math score AND ACT Reading score of 16+

Pre-Calculus (Math 1115) 24 - 27 ACT Math score AND ACT Reading score of 16+

College Algebra (MATH 1110) 22 - 23 ACT Math score AND ACT Reading score of 16+

Fundamentals of Statistics (MATH 2021) 16 - 21 ACT Math score AND ACT Reading score of 21+

Math for Liberal Arts (MATH 1050) 16 - 21 ACT Math score AND ACT Reading score of 16+

Intermediate Algebra II (MATH 0670) OR Combined Algebra I and II (MATH 0700) 16 - 21 ACT Math score

Intermediate Algebra I (MATH 0660) 13 - 15 ACT Math score

Math for Career Programs: Technical Math (MATH 1020) 13+ ACT Math score
