Research Associate position in The Department of Genetics at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine

The Department of Genetics at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine has a Research Associate position available in the areas of computational analysis of genomic, genetic, molecular and pathways studies for a national collaboration with two other biomedical research institutions. Successful candidates will have at least 4 years experience in genetics, genomics and systems biology with publications in computer science and in genetics, genomics or systems biology.

The responsibilities for this position include applying existing analytical methods and as appropriate developing new methods for analyzing genetic, genomic and systems data from studies of mouse models of human disease and where appropriate similar data from human studies. Conduct original research in developmental of computational, statistical and related analytical methods. Coordinate collaborations locally, nationally and internationally. Present research results at national and international conferences. Write research papers and reviews.

The Candidate will have technical skills in 1) computer science and statistics – neural nets, pattern recognition, graph theory, network and path analysis, linear regression, and multivariate analysis. 2) Genetics methods and data, including crosses, mutants, and chromosome substitution strains, DNA sequence, mRNA and miRNA profiles, and metabolite.
