a. Remove all three 10mm bolts holding kick panel on. Disconnect 3 connectors, Hood Cable, Hose and courtesy light. One 10 mm bolt is under the parking brake, only remote the right side 10mm the left side 10mm holds the parking brake to the top of the dash. The second 10mm is on the bottom right hand side under the dash. The third is on the left side of the car, your must remove the plastic cover on top of the scuff plate to get to it.
b. Remove lower kick panel. the rest are just clips be very careful not to just pull the kick panel from bottom because there a few clips on the top right hand side of the kick panel
Drivers floor carpet L/H kick panel
REMOVING DRIVERS FLOOR CARPET L/H KICK PANEL
a. Pull drivers floor carpet back towards brake pedal and gas pedal to allow for as much room as possible to access L/H junction block. Basically your going to have to get the carpet behind the parking break this is difficult. Try lifting the carpet from the middle of the carpet in the driver seat. So you can slide it under the brake
b. Locate larger IC1 24 pin connector behind L/H carpet kick panel to access convertible top wires.
It’s the last plug on the line of 4
c. Remove harness protective cover to access wires.
d. Connect J1.3 Yellow wire from LuxLink to IC1.2 Yellow and Black wire to vehicle, J1.9 Green wire from LuxLink to IC1.3 Green with Yellow wire to vehicle, J1.6 Violet wire from LuxLink to IC1.15 Black with Yellow wire.
e. Solder all three wires and shield with electrical tape. Reinstall harness protector.
LUXLINK WIRES TO DOOR COMPUTER
INSTALLING WIRES FROM LUXLINK TO DOOR COMPUTER
a. Remove door speaker to access rubber door boot. In order
Get the wires through the door just pull the boot
Out from the frame of the car and the door then
You can thread the wires through there easier
b. Pull back a portion of the clear door plastic behind door panel..
c. Locate J1.1 Red / White, J1.5 Brown, J1.7 Orange, J1.10 Grey, and J1.16 White wires on Lux Link. Route wires to L/H rubber boot going into drivers door.
d. Make sure wires do not interfere with window glass moving up and down.
e. Pull wires through wire harness area near center of door.
f. Remove electrical tape around large group of wires. Locate proper wires and connect (See Photos) remove the electrical tape near the yellow X when you remove the outside electrical tape there is a second bundle wrapped in electrical tape make sure u take this off too. As a check please plug the window switch back in and use the multi meter to test all the wires. This is def important.
g. Strip ¼” of insulation from all five wires.
h. Attach brown wire from Lux Link to blue with red stripe power door lock wire. (Power when locking door)
i. Attach grey wire from LuxLink to blue with Black power door unlock wire. (Power when unlocking door) there are a couple of these wires also, I just chose a multimeter to find the right one
j. Attach Red with White stripe wire from Lux Link to red with white stripe door courtesy switch. (Ground with drivers door open)
k. Attach Orange wire from LuxLink to Green power window down wire. (Power with drivers window down) there are 3 green wires in this bundle. You need to choose the green wire that happened to be in the second bundle of wires
l. Attach White wire from LuxLink to Blue power window up wire.(Power with drivers window up)
m. Solder all five wires and install electrical tape on all five wires individually.
MAKE SURE YOU PULL AS MUCH WIRE AS YOU CAN BACK INTO THE INSIDE OF THE CAR BEFORE YOU PUT EVERYTHING BACK TOGETHER. YOUR GOING TO NEED THE SLACK TO PLUG INTO THE LEXLINK UNIT
n. Reinstall speaker and door panel.
PARKING BRAKE WIRE
INSTALLING PARKING BRAKE WIRE
a. Locate skid control ECU under drivers side kick panel next to
brake pedal assembly. Locate connector B pin 8 Red with Black
wire. Connect J1.2 Brown wire from LuxLink to Red with Black
wire. Solder and tape .
I did not do this but I am pretty sure it would work. The parking brake wire gets grounded when its set. The parking brake is needed for remote start. So if you don’t use your parking brake like I do, ground this wire so you don’t need the parking brake for remote start.
BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH WIRE
REMOVING BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH CONNECTOR
a. Locate brake light switch under drivers side dash.
b. Locate green with white stripe wire pin 1.
c. Connect J1.15 Violet with white wire from Lux Link to Green with white wire pin 1.
d. Remove ¼” insulation from green with white stripe wire from brake light switch and connect Violet with White wire.
e. Solder wires and install electrical tape.
ENGINE HOOD COURTESEY SWITCH WIRE
LOCATE AND INSTALL HOOD PIN WIRE FROM LUXLINK
a. Locate Drivers side junction block ECU.
b. Connect J1.4 Blue wire from LuxLink to Connector A pin 16 Red wire behind Drivers side junction block.
Note: This is not an easy task. The connector is behind the junction block and is difficult to see and get to.
This is the hardest and most time consuming step. I
Literally spend a couple wires on this part alone. If your
Not using the shock sensor for the alarm then this isn’t really needed. Its definently not worth the trouble getting to it. So if your not using the alarm sensor you can just tape this to a 12v and everything will work fine. If not I hope you have nimble hands. First off I hope you had moved the carpet behind the parking brake. If you haven’t you need to right now. Then you need to take off the fuse junction block. There are 2 10mm bolts one on the top and one on the bottom. On the back side of the black there are 4 plugs that u can reach without having to take off the block. There are also two plugs on the bottom. Take off all 6 of these plugs. When you take off all 6 of them and the bolts pull the junction block out a bit. If you reach behind it you can feel a plug. Take this plug out and you will find the red wire on the 16th pin. Keep in mind there is a 18 pin plug with a red wire with yellow stripe on one of the plugs that u can get to without taking out the junction block. I thought this was it at first it wasn’t. I didn’t solder this wire because I got fed up trying to get to it. I used a T-tap and all seems to work fine. It is very hard to solder in this confined area, plus the plug doesn’t go very far.
GROUND INSTALLATION
LOCATE AND INSTALL GROUND FROM LUXLINK
c. Locate black wire from LuxLink and attach to ground.
d. Install ground on known good chassis ground.
INSTALLING LUX LINK TO IGNITION CONNECTOR
LOCATE IGNITION SWITCH CONNECTOR (located under driver’s side dash)
a. Disconnect 8 pin ignition switch connector.
b. Connect LuxLink “T” connector harness in between male and female ignition connectors.
MOUNTING LUX LINK
LOCATE & MOUNT LUXLINK IN A SUITABLE SPACE
e. Mount LuxLink and wires in an inconspicuous place
where it will not interfere with any moving parts.
(Double sided tape recommended)
it was hard for me to find a place but basically I
shoved it on the left side of the dash sitting
horizontal. Just left of the steering column in
front of the air conditioning tube. I don’t think
there is anywhere else to fit it.
IMMOBOLISER INSTALLATION
NOTE:
Before trying to remotely start vehicle the by pass transponder kit needs to be installed in vehicle.
The black wire on bypass kit gets connected to J1.8 Blue with white wire from LuxLink. The red wire gets connected to battery power. The yellow wire does not get used. See instructions in TBK111.
They want you to attach the blue/white wire from lux link to the ground wire of the immobilizer. The wire that your suppose to wrap around the ignition coil is also black. It might be a good idea if you just cut one side of the wire near the base so you can thread it through and then solder it back together. I just tapped the red wire to the fused red power wire going to the lux link.
For alarm install just plug it into luxlink unit and mount it to car. There are two phillip head screws on top to adjust sensitivity. Make sure you installed the engine hood courtesy switch or else it wont work.
