Dear Parents and Carers,

St Margaret’s School Council would like to invite you and your children to support them in raising money for their second charity, Comic Relief – via Red Nose Day on Friday 13th March.

For the first time, School Councillors will be selling red noses in school at break-times and lunchtimes – noses will be on sale after half term (depending on delivery). Red noses will cost £1 each and be exactly the same as in the shops; there are 9 varieties this year alongside the possibility of finding a golden nose, which will win an amazing prize for the school.

There will be a talent show contest in each class, with the winners performing on stage in a special ‘comic’ worship on Friday 13th March. In addition, the School Council asked each class to choose their own theme for dressing up and specific event for raising sponsorship money.

The following ideas were voted by each class:

|Class |Dress up idea |Sponsorship idea |

|Buttercup |PJs and onesies |Bike ride in outdoor area |

|Sunflower |Superheroes |Bike ride in outdoor area |

|Amber |PJs and onesies |Red nose and spoon race |

|Sunset |Animals |Red nose racket balance race |

|Cherry |Fancy dress |Throw and catch red noses |

|Poppy |Footballers/Frozen characters |As many dancing poses as possible |

|Fern |Favourite story character |Throw the nose |

|Olive |Favourite thing or character |Red nose hunt |

|Ocean |Sports and actresses |Obstacle course |

|Sky |Parents clothes or weird make-up |Red nose bounce on tennis racket |

|Ametrine |PJs and onesies |Telling jokes or gunging (willing) teachers |

|Tanzanite |Dress as adults |Selling cupcakes |

|Bronze |Film characters |Running around the field |

|Copper |Boys as girls, girls as boys |Obstacle relay |

How can you support the School Council?

➢ Dress your child for the class chosen theme (or just not in school uniform!) and provide a £1 voluntary donation to show support.

➢ Help your child gather as much sponsorship as possible when they complete their task on the day (most will be based on how many times they can be completed in a specific time). I advise that you collect sponsorship at the time the person signs up, to save you needing to chase people after the event! Please use the Comic Relief Sponsorship Form.

May I thank you in advance for your continued support.

Mr Yelling (on behalf of the School Council)
