Amos’ village was located a few miles southeast of Bethlehem. A good view of the area can be had from the heights of the Herodium. The area is fairly barren, and the Bedouin graze their sheep there. Amos was a shepherd (1:1) as well as a tender of sycamore figs (7:14). ................
