WELCOME LETTER / EMAIL:All,Subject: Welcome Letter-All Functional Courses:Sunday is your Travel DayThe following Monday is the Start DateThe Security+ and Network Manager Security (NMS) courses are 5 days (M-F)The CISSP course is 9 days and ends on Thursday of the 2nd week.Welcome to the Fort Gordon Signal School functional CISSP/Security+/NMS course***The voucher is not included with the course***Thank you for registering for our training. Class will start at 0830 on Monday morning in Bldg. 25801 (Cobb Hall) - Location appears in google maps or most major navigation tools, on the corner of chamberlain and 25th street. The classroom number will be announced on a pedestal by each of the buildings 5 entrances. Military personnel will wear Duty Uniform and civilians will wear appropriate attire. Any travel arrangements should be made to accommodate training finishing no earlier than 1600 on the last day.There are NO official requirements for our course, HOWEVER, if you plan to attain a voucher, you’ll need to complete the necessary requirements, which are specific to your component. Please contact us below to obtain these if desired.We do facilitate certification testing on site thru our Pearson Vue testing center (credit card or voucher only) on the last day, if desired. However, THIS COURSE DOES NOT INCLUDE A VOUCHER. The ATCTS link for voucher information is: you don’t already have one, you’ll be required to create an ATCTS account and have your IAM verify your prerequisites as well as upload your request into your profile. If you plan on taking the certification on the last day of the course, your voucher should be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to your class start date.ALL students registered in ATRRS will NOT be reserved for lodging. Fort Gordon participates in the Institutional Training Directed Lodging & Meal (ITDLM) program for Soldiers (Active Army, ARNG and USAR) attending institutional training for Professional Military Education (PME) courses, on a TDY status. Advanced lodging reservations for students covered by the ITDLM program are not required.However, you are NOT considered ITDLM students while attending this course. Therefore, you will require lodging, either on or off post, within your per diem rate, for the duration of the course, including your travel day.Lodging will be funded from the report date through 11am on the class end date by your unit.Rental Cars: Although we cannot order Command's to provide rental cars, Fort Gordon does not have an on-post transportation system, nor does the School House. Additionally, the aforementioned states that all TDY students will be staying off post, therefore it is recommended that you provide transportation for your student/soldiers to and from their hotel. This is because the nearest hotel (on-post) is 6 miles round trip, but students are commonly put in Griffith and Ring Hall, which makes it a 12 mile round-trip venture to get back and forth to the school house. This will increase depending on the off-post facility you chose as well.Meals: Although Dining Facilities are open during limited hours Monday – Sunday, TDY personnel are not afforded a meal card, charged for their meals, and discouraged from intermingling with the IET personnel that are required to eat at the facilities.ATL vs Augusta Airport: It is up to you and your unit to coordinate your travel through the Atlanta or Augusta Airport. However, it is the recommendation of the school house that the August Airport be used, as it is closer, and extra costs will incur traveling from Atlanta (e.g. gas, mileage, rental fees), and again when attempting to return rental cars in alternate locations, if that is something considered/attempted.
