"Tommy" McCall, 31, died unex-

pectedly on Tuesday, August 3,

2021. He was born April 12, 1990,

in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Bobby

Lee and Carol Jenetta (Ricks)

McCall.

Tommy had attended Speedway

High School and was a member

of the Speedway United

Methodist Church. He was cur-

rently employed at FedEx.

He is survived by his mother

and step father, Carol and Kevin

Dykes of Speedway and two step

brothers: Kevin (Alison) Dykes II

of Plainfield, Indiana and Joshua

(Amy) Dykes of Brazil, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his

father, Bobby Lee and grandpar-

ents, Galen and Helen Ricks.

Private burial was in the

Roseland Cemetery, Francesville,

Indiana. Memorial contributions

may be made to Speedway

United Methodist Church for the

Mountain Top Program.

CULVER, IN - Wanda Lynn

"Duke" Gilbert, 44, died Sunday,

August 1, 2021, at St. Joseph

Regional Medical Center,

Plymouth, Indiana, following a

battle with cancer.

She was born October 3,1976,

in Bridgeton, New Jersey. On

March 9, 2021, in Winamac,

Indiana, she married Amber L.

(Mangun) Doeden.

Duke was a cook at McDonalds

in Winamac and enjoyed grilling

out, watching the Chicago Bears

and drinking Natural Ice.

She is survived by her wife,

Amber, one son, David (Sarah)

Gilbert, two step sons: Zachary

Mangun and Tryston Whitaker,

three step daughters: Zoe and

Danielle Doeden and Ashlynn

Whitaker, her father, Robert

(Sandra Anderson) Pierce and

two sisters: Cathy (James) Grier

and Kristy Marie.

No services were held.

Memorial contributions may be

made to the funeral home to

assist with final expenses.

Arrangements were made by

HOWAT

FRANCESVILLE, IN - James Lee

"Jim" Howat, 58, died

Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at

his home. He was born

December 1, 1962, in

Rensselaer, Indiana, to William J.

and Mary Beth (Bailey) Howat.

Jim was a 1981 graduate of

West Central High School and

was a veteran of the US Army,

having served during Desert

Storm and retired after 22 years

as a Staff Sergeant. He was a

member of the Francesville

American Legion Post #228. Jim

was an avid fan of the Chicago

Cubs, Minnesota Vikings and

Purdue Athletics. He liked watch-

ing NASCAR, listening to all

types of music, fishing, playing

cards and spending time with his

family and his girlfriend, Kris

Johnson.

He is survived by three sons:

Corey (Chelsey) Howat and Ryan

(Amber) Howat, both of

Francesville and Evan (Lindsay

Reinholt) Howat of Star City,

Indiana, eight grandchildren, his

mother, Mary Beth Howat of

Francesville and one brother, Ed

(Kim) Howat of West Lafayette,

Indiana. He was preceded in

death by his father, William.

Graveside services were held

Monday, August 9, at the

Roseland

Cemetery,

Francesville, with Pastor Dennis

Gutwein officiating. Memorial

contributions may be made to the

funeral home to assist with final

expenses.

JULEPHINE MANN

KNOX, IN - Julephine Mann, 80, died Sunday, August 1, 2021, in LaPorte, Indiana. She was born August 26, 1940, in Salyersville, Kentucky, to the late James and Mae (Lovely) Minix.

Julephine was a member of the Aldine United Baptist Church and was loved by her Sunday School students. She loved to sing, cook, tell stories about "back when" and family gatherings. She enjoyed yard sales both going to them and having them.

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence "Gene" Mann, one daughter, Virginia "Jenny" Howard of Knox, three sons: Kim Tolson of North Judson, Indiana, Carl Tolson of Knox and Anthony Tolson of Plymouth, Indiana, nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by eleven brothers: Landin Sr. Bryce, Julius, Mitchel, Austin, A.C., Wardie, Sammy, R.V., Harlis and Arvin Minix and five sisters: Virginia Hancock, Marie Collins, Marlyn Bolen, Carlie Brady and Mary Minix.

Services were held Thursday, August 5, at the O'Donnell Funeral Home. Burial was in the Highland Cemetery, North Judson.

Arrangements were made by O'Donnell Funeral Home, Inc., North Judson.

LEANNA M. DuBOIS

ROCHESTER, IN - FORMERLY OF WINAMAC, IN - Leanna M. "Pete" DuBois, 92, died at 9:28am, Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at the Life Care Center of Rochester, Rochester, Indiana. She was born July 29, 1929, in Plymouth, Indiana, to the late Melvin and Lennis Irene (Gearhart) Rupright. On September 6, 1946, in Mishawaka, Indiana, she married Zale DuBois. He died January 29, 2013.

Leanna was a housewife. She played the accordion, self taught herself on the guitar and she played in a band with her daughter and had also been on a bowling league. She enjoyed sewing projects, intricate doll clothes, crocheting, tatting, needlework and was very good at drawing characters. Leanna had worked a few years at Eaton and at the Pulaski County Justice Center until she retired.

She is survived by two daughters: Linda Smith of Mayer, Arizona and Terry (Stan) Tucker of Camdenton, Missouri, five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and eleven great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Peggy DuBois, one son, Zale "ZD" DuBois, Jr. and one sister, Betty Paidle.

Visitation from 11am-3pm EDT, Wednesday, August 11 at Frain Mortuary. Services will follow at 3pm EDT, at the funeral home, with Pastor Jason Bowyer officiating. Burial will be in the Winamac Cemetery (McKinley Addition). Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
