months)

Employment Information:

Right after I finished my college years I was employed with TWA as a secretary for a total of five years. For the next five years I

was a stay-at-home mom raising our first two children. Since then I have been an employee of Hallmark Cards for 33 years – came here

for a 3-month maternity fill-in position and have been here ever since. I was admin assistant to the same person for 22 years … when

he was promoted I would move with him. Currently I am working in the Hall Family Foundation and really like this kind of charitable

Bio Summary: Since high school, I have been greatly blessed with fine educational opportunities, a terrific marriage, wonderful

family and friends, a solid career, and many interests that keep me alert and happy. Now I am enjoying retirement.

Family Information:

Marital Status: I met Nancy in college, and we have been married for an unbelievable 37 years.

Number of Children: Our son Jon, now 31, had the good sense to marry our talented and lovely daughter-in-law, Maria. He is a

medical research biochemist the father of all of our grandchildren. Our daughter, Laura, age 25, entered college as a cellist/music

major but graduated last year as a mechanical and nuclear engineer. She now works as a petroleum engineer, placing nuclear isotopes

and high explosives into oil wells (I know this kid, and this scares me). Our younger son, David, age 22, is doing well as an

electrical engineering student. The two younger kids were home schooled and owe their confidence and scholastic success to their

demanding and loving mother.

Number of Grandchildren: Three and one more due.

Employment Information: Federal Government from 1972 to 2005.

Retired/Plans to Retire: I retired a couple of years ago, and it is wonderful.

Education: Central Missouri State (BS Ed cum laude 1970), Florida State University (MA in history 1972), Rollins College Winter

Park, FL (accounting), CPA Florida and Missouri.

Favorite Hobbies: I entered college with a declared major in art. Now I have time to pursue art and other interests, including

making wine, reading and writing history, corresponding with historians who have shared interests, being involved in historical

reenacting and classical music productions, traveling, and tending to family and friends.

Travel: We have been to Europe a couple of times including a visit to see my Dad’s cousins who make wine in the Piedmont of Italy.

Shockingly, I have sunbathed topless on the beach at Cannes on the French Rivera, and strolled with wild abandon through museums

across America, Mexico, Canada and Europe. Last year, we made a trip to Argentina where Nancy and I danced the tango in BA in the

same dance hall where the intro to Evita was filmed, explored remote villages in the Andes (No, I did not bring back any coca

leaves), and spent a few glorious days in the other “land of the midnight sun,” Tierra del Fuego socializing with penguins. This

year, we are going on a cruise of the Caribbean with friends. And we have an itch to go to Antarctica, but that may have to wait.

Recreation: Walking, camping, and backpacking.

Pets: We have outlived all the pets.

Other: For me, life is good, and I wish the best to all my RSHS classmates.
