RESEARCH SCIENTIST - #10009

Research Scientist to be located at the Applied Plasma Technology Laboratory of Old Dominion University. Successful candidate will be employed through the Old Dominion University Research Foundation. Position requires PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field. Must have strong background in plasma physics, particularly in low temperature atmospheric pressure plasmas and their applications including biomedicine. Experimental expertise is required and experience with modeling is desirable. Strong proven track record of publications in the field is highly valued. The successful candidate will participate in ongoing research and is expected to generate new research and secure external funding from various sources to support their work and the general mission of the laboratory. Continuing employment is contingent on individual performance and the ability to attract and maintain external funding. It is expected that the successful candidate will be able to generate enough external support to be fully self supporting within three years of affiliation with the laboratory. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with the candidate’s experience and demonstrated research track record.
