|Verbal Communication |

|Maryam continues to advance her verbal communication skills by implementing these subsequence strategies. Maryam continues to contribute to class discussion of read materials for EDSE 843 and articulate her beliefs |

|regarding teaching, learning, and leadership issues in the field of special education. She also regularly listens to educational, economical, and political broadcastings on radio on her way to work and school in order |

|to advance her conversational skills and to increase her knowledge of current issues in her society. Currently, she is seeking educational broadcasts or lectures that she can load from the internet and listen to in her |

|car. She continues to engage in discussion regarding educational topics with her co-workers and classmates on any given opportunities. Although sometimes Maryam has difficulty pronouncing some words, she tries to |

|overcome this problem by asking her friends and co-workers to help her learn the correct pronunciation of the words. |

|Written Communication |

|Maryam is also advancing in her written communication goals. She strives to produce quality expository and informational papers that meet the APA style of writing for EDSE 843. She continues to re-read and corrects her |

|written mistakes and also seeks to get help from her friends and co-workers for any additional suggestions. When reading articles for the class, Maryam continues to pay extra attention to their style of writing in order|

|to improve her penmanship. Maryam has purchased and is studying a book that teaches her how to advance her expository writing skills. |

|Professional Development Skills |

|Maryam is also masking satisfactory progress toward this goal. Maryam has purchased GRE practice materials and is studying them to become prepared for taking the GRE test during summer months. She is increasing her |

|knowledge in the field of special education by completing all of required EDSE 843 class reading assignments. She strives to be fully prepared for each class session, arrive on time, and actively participate in all |

|class activities. She frequently visits and reviews external special education websites provided by her professor as supplemental reading materials. Maryam also actively participates in all service trainings provided by|

|her school. Maryam has signed up for a one week training to become a highly qualified in teaching “Mathematics grades 6-8” during 2008 summer months. |
