This position primarily focuses on taking the lead in implementing Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) which is a resilience-based trauma informed protocol to improve the well- being of children who have experienced trauma. This is an evidence based/evidence supported model that equips caregivers and teacher specific strategies to build connection, empower children, and assist them in correcting challenging behaviors. Position trains staff in various school districts within DHHS catchment area and provides hands-on demonstration/coaching to teachers and caregivers in the TBRI Model. This position is a liaison with the local school districts, and all DHHS programs that include Assistance Payments, FIS, Child Welfare and Community Resource Coordinators. During the summer, the position maintains regular contact and provides services to the children/youth and caregivers who have actively participated in TBRI within the classroom. Position functions as a professional social caseworker and provides services to socially and/or economically disadvantaged individuals and families. The overall function of both the Department of Health and Human Services is to assist families in creating environments within the organic home that is least restrictive and provides the highest level of safety and stability. The function of this position is to provide trauma based intervention services to children/student in the child welfare system.26.In your opinion, what are the minimum education and experience qualifications needed to perform the essential functions of this position.EDUCATION:Possession of a bachelor’s or master’s degree with a major in one of the following human services areas: social work, sociology, psychology, forensic psychology, interdisciplinary studies in social science, education, community development, law enforcement, behavioral science, gerontology, special education, education of the emotionally disturbed, education of the gifted, family ecology, community services, family studies, family and/or child development, counseling psychology, criminal justice, human services, or in a human services-related counseling major. OR, possession of a bachelor’s degree in any major with at least 30 semester (45 term) credits in one or a combination of the human services area majors listed above.Preferred education includes Master’s in Counseling or Social Work.EXPERIENCE:Services Specialist 9 – no specific type or amount is required. Services Specialist 10 – one year of professional experience providing casework services to socially and economically disadvantaged individuals equivalent to a Services Specialist 9.
