PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT

Job Description:

Performs on site management of the daily activities of specific construction projects including coordinating C&W personnel, subcontractors, the project schedule and all safety issues.

Reports to:

• Project Manager and Business Unit Vice President.

Responsibilities:

• Always represent the company in a business like manner, establish strong external network relationships, seek out and create opportunities for additional sales and overall be an effective representation of the company at all times.

• Manage site activities to adhere to project schedule. Understand the Caldwell & Walsh project labor budget. Manage project within defined budget allocations.

• Work in unison with the Project Manager to ensure that schedules will be met, and that tasks for each element of the project are completed in a sequential manner.

• Create two week look ahead schedules and determine sequence of work strategies to maintain project schedule.

• Supervise and support assistant superintendents, field engineers and interns as assigned to all of your projects

• Oversee work among subcontractor trades to promote coordinated project

Labor, equipment and schedules to align for project success.

• Coordinate and schedule with client E&M departments all shut downs, disruptions of service or any work disrupting adjacent areas.

• Manage site safety program as required and confirm subcontractor compliance with Caldwell and Walsh standards, client specific building requirements, OSHA and all applicable safety codes and regulations

• Handle all field aspects of a project from the anticipated contract award to the final closeout.

• Communicate with owners, architects and engineers, all potential field issues. Document to APM and PM in a timely manner. Follow up and act accordingly.

• Anticipate problems that will need to be resolved that may delay the progress of work.

• Fully understand/review subcontractor project scope to differentiate between contract and change order work.

Education:

• Associates Degree in Construction or five (5) years experience as superintendent

Proficiencies:

• MS Office Suite

• Effective Communication and writing skills

• Procore experience is a plus, will be a company requirement

Company Required Proficiencies:

• OSHA 30 Certification
